Old folk seem to think that young people are content with the same cushy, meaningless jobs they had. Nevermind self determination
Nevermind that it's unsustainable on multiple levels. Nevermind fact that the planet had had it with us. Nevermind that there are better ways. Nevermind that we are so close to being able to prove that idealism can be realistic.
This is where the pattern of unrest comes from and why it is growing. The overbearing influence of power figures and the structures they use to control is exactly reflective of that of parents who don't know their place.
Life is a beautiful gift, not an investment or a resource. So many fail to see this and so we have this negative cycle which can only improve at a snail's pace. Humanity gets bad rap because it's yet been able to show all of its colors. We've only seen it in the dark. We've only seen it on a diet of McDonald's and coca cola or worse. What happens when we feed it well?
I'm excited about what comes next. Right now it seems as if there is no good possible outcome but life always has a way of surprising us and humanity is still on an uptrend.
That street is tight man.
I for one am a pessimist. I do not believe that man can become better rather i think we degenerate with each passing generation. Yes there are advances in technology and science. Yes, the digital age has brought about new ways of interaction and how we view and relate with the world around us but in all these, the human race has lost so much. The ability to empathise is fading as well as the ability to see things as they are not as we want them to be. Love is bandied all over the place but children cannot be bothered to even cater for their aged parents. The divorce rates have increased and each and every day, little kids who should be thinking of exams, term papers, prom, football season are going on social media to commit suicide over different psychological issues. If no one sees this as a downtrend, well i do.
I feel that we have lost something in our search for progress. I think that thing is how to be happy. We have forgotten how to be happy. We have replaced happiness with pleasure and confuse the high of cocaine with peace. Sex is no longer enjoyed for the intimacy it brings but because it is a new way to get high.
I am not a psychologists or a philosopher but i believe that if we continue on this part, we will make great discoveries, achieve incredible feats of engineering and scientific breakthroughs but we will be empty at the end. We will lose our soul.
These are just my random thoughts though. like i said, i am a pessimist but i may be wrong too. who knows how these things turn out?

There will be no God coming down to enforce the sinners to not sin.
