February - Monthly resolutions

in #goals8 years ago (edited)

On New Year’s Eve, instead of making a New Years Resolution, I decided to stick to a month long set of resolutions that would be more manageable. So it’s time to look at how I did in January and set up my goals for February.

January - How did I do?

I’m going to give myself a C+ for the month. I did phenomenal as far as my steemit and crypto goals were concerned. As for the other goals....not so great.

I managed to learn the uses for over 100 coins and a lot of context to help my understanding of the cryptosphere. I stayed very active with posting and engagement and both my account and the projects I’ve put time into have grown substantially. The Deadpost Initiative which aims to find payout and readers for undervalued posts from the past had a $21 Steem prize pool and over 100 comments.

My own growth at the platform has been pretty sweet!

. 1 month ago Goal Now
  SP 950 1000 1100
  Follows 1100 1300 1350
  Rep 57 60 59.4 (Almost!)

As for my goals of practicing guitar 5 days a week...oops. It’s hard in the winter and I was too focused on steemit. The story I was working on....still not finished.....my dream diary....I made 7 entries out of the 15 I could have made, exercise was the same....half what I was trying for.

So this month I will have to focus on keeping balance between steemit and the rest of my life. I will try to maintain the same activity, growth and community support as January but raise my game in the 3D.

February Goals

Steemit

  • Continue to read and upvote good posts by accounts with less rep than I, and old friends.
  • Keep up work on the Deadposts.
  • SP 1250
  • Followers 1600
  • Rep 60
  • put something on Dsound.

Health and good Habits

Artistic Pursuits

  • Finally finish “A Dream Sequence”, a short story for Confessions of the Damaged
  • Update the link above
  • Really practice guitar for at least 20 minutes 5 days a week!
  • practice my songs so I can play some shows again (it’s been a year) and share my music on steemit.

Other

  • stay positive! I will be facing something this month that has been very challenging in the past. I want to make sure it doesn’t bring me down again.
  • get back to meditation. 5 minutes a Day is enough but every day!

Balancing steemit with 3D is my theme for the month.

What are your monthly resolutions?

Good and most important....realistic goals!!

Balancing in life, thats were we all mess up I guess. Good luck with the no sugar! Curious on how it will change you

Wow!!! I'm jealous of all the time you have! I can barely workout and work before my brain feels fried! Lol! Awesome job keep it up!

Very smart strategy to stay focused on your goals! I really enjoy and appreciate The Deadpost Initiative. Thank you!

To be more productive or less procrastinating, I do weekly lists of things I want to do. This makes me more productive. Of course, I find that I always put more things in the list than I can actually do, but I list everything I want to do that week : eg. Go to the gym, meet someone I need to, do specific things etc. I find that a weekly list helps me focus on doing things and finishing tasks that I need to for that week. I would not say that this has made me more productive, but it has helped me get tasks done without procrastination.

I used to do daily lists before, but found it too tedious and time consuming (as well as a little stressful at times)

Congrats on the goals you met and good luck with this months. I like the 15 mins of house cleaning and 5 mins of meditation best. They seem very doable.

Congrats on accomplishing Jan's goals! Hope you achieve this month's goals too man.

Nice achievements and goals. Keep up the good work!

Uh, C++ :) Sweet! That was my first programming language and it took me months to understand it (coding everyday). Have you been coding in some other languages too?

You probably need a muse to motivate you to play the guitar more often. Hm...get a cat if not a girl? They can both be good muses :)

I will upgrade you to a B- if you can increase your meditation to 10 minutes a day. :)

Love the idea of focusing on achievable monthly goals rather than getting totally overwhelmed by a big, yearlong process. Good way to look at life. :) Followed, and enjoy your other content too!
