It Turns Out The Netflix Of Gaming Has A Lot Of Competition
I think we are getting to the stage were we are close to a streaming service for video games that runs like netflix. You hook up a controller and run the app on your tv. It would cost around 20 a month and you could play any game you want to. No need for a system or a fancy computer. This would be a big service and that is why there are big companies looking to be first.
According to this article a lot of big names are competing including ones which are not known for gaming. You have Amazon, Google and Apple on the list. The three biggest tech companies. I can see any of them making a solid service. Then you got Microsoft who might push ahead with their experience in the gaming field.
The big question to answer is content. Just like netflix took off with original content, the titles that are on the service will be the selling factor. So first party software will still play a big role in this.

I'm more interested in a Netflix of sport. I've so many channels with different sports but there are always a lot of events i don't have the channels for. A Netflix of live sport with a monthly subscription and i no longer need my tv channels. It's the only reason i still have live tv. Pay per view for the big fights and live sport 24/7 from all over the world.
