My Personal Top 10 Cryptocurrency Investments For 2018

These are my personal top 10 cryptocurrency investments for 2018. Since the cryptocurrency market is quite new, prices can be extremely volatile. Nobody really knows where the prices of all of the cryptocurrencies are heading, and some of the cryptocurrencies around are most likely overpriced at the time of writing this post. The best example for this is most likely Bitcoin itself, the current 'gold standard' amongst cryptocurrencies. Only invest the money you are prepared to lose, and only invest based on your own knowledge and opinion.

I am in no way responsible for any of your potential losses!

#1: Steem (STEEM)

Websites: https://steem.io & https://steemit.com

What makes Steem my #1 investment for 2018:

  • Steem offers zero transaction fees
  • Steem offers extremely fast transaction times
  • Steem introduced a blockchain-based rewards platform for publishers to monetize content and grow community (bye bye Facebook)
  • Steem's price has been rising firmly for the last year
  • Steem's price is less volatile than most other cryptocurrencies because all users can convert their STEEM to STEEM POWER, which locks their balance for 3 months

Note About Bitcoin

I believe I have a good reason not to list Bitcoin itself in my personal top 10 cryptocurrency investments for 2018. In less than 10 years Bitcoin seems to have already failed in its main purpose: being a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. Bitcoin transactions are way too expensive and take way too long to be verified by the miners. If these issues are not resolved soon, this could eventually lead to Bitcoin losing A LOT of its market share.

At the time of writing there are well over 160.000 unconfirmed Bitcoins transactions. Besides, the price of Bitcoin has been rising so unbelievably fast during the past couple of months that I am pretty sure it will get a severe correction soon. On the other hand, this could be a great opportunity to obtain Bitcoin.
