When 20 become 8! On to the QUATER FINALS. A RWC special....

The Rugby World Cup has reached the second stage of its journey. We've finished with the pool stages, and what a pool stage it was, and moved on to the quarter finals.

The QFs see the top 2 teams from each pool progress and now play each other in a sudden death, winner takes all match to see who moves on to the semi-finals.

Theres no real surprise to see 7 of those 8 names above, but the team that has stood out and has played some of the most exciting rugby to watch so far is JAPAN.

Japan pulled off the biggest surprise of the tournament so far. Not only did they manage to beat Scotland, but they also beat Ireland, to finish top of their pool. As a big fan of rugby, watching the Jap Vs Scot game, it was by far the best game of the tournament, cementing Japan as pool toppers and crowd favourites.

Ive also been running a sweepstake and "guess the score" on the side, so I'll run through who's left in and give my thoughts as to how the games might play-out.

Head says ENGLAND..... Every other part of me wishes AUSTRALIA. Not just because I drew Aus in the sweepstake, but because England are just the team EVERYONE loves to hate!!

If I were a nueteral, then if given only 1 game to watch this would be the game. IRELAND have a very good recent track record against the ALL BLACKS, but I can't see them doing it this time. Its a NZ win for me.

You can never right-off the French. They always manage to pull a world beating performance out of the bag at a world Cup. I really hope its not against WALES. The Welsh should just pip the FRENCH, running away in the last 15 minutes.
