Booking.com video called me??!
Renting out the rooms nowadays is easy peasy, isn't it. Getting it booked is not that easy, is it? As I mentioned a while back in my post that I started renting some space in my house out on AirBnb. By far, I got 2 people contacted.. and pretty much none.
I tried looking for my listed place on the Airbnb page
By searching 'Bangkapi' or 'Lad Phrao', the area where my house is at, I really couldn't find my house! It's just so competitive. All the lower price properties and/or ones with reviews popped up like mushrooms. How could people see it if even I tried so hard to get to it and I couldn't?
I figured out I may need to put it up elsewhere as well for visibility..

- Homeaway / Vrbo
- Craigslist
** I got lucky with craigslist too, a girl from Netherlands contacted that she's love to come live for 5 months during her internship. Fingers crossed!
I listed it on all above and found out, oh! it's so confusing to manage.. So I have chosen the ones I think have best listing / managing experience.. AirBnb and Booking are best ones in my opinion.
Booking even video called me to see if the house looks like what it does in photos!!!!! Then they call me to guide me through the managing page on the site.
OH MY I WAS SURPRISED and I love how much they care. Booking.com also has the suggestions what needs to be done to make my property gets some booking.
- Put a lot more photos
- Set up some discounts for some certain period suggested
- Breakfast service
I don't know if it will really work but I tried my best.. Here's what it looks like now!!
Any suggestions to improve my effort of renting the room out, please share ! :)
