Endless, boundless with no limits that is Infinity. Another art exhibit which we fell upon during our previous night walk. In this exhibit it showcases another Filipino artist named Joe Datuin a University of Santo Tomas graduate of Fine Arts and a scholar at Vermont Studio Center in USA. In this art exhibit entitled Infinity + an inspiration from his masterpiece Dancing Rings. Not know to all but Dancing Rings is the winner of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Art Contest for sculpture.

The Art of Infinity

With materials made from stainless steel and inspired from the iconic five rings of the Olympics. This exhibit showcases talent, creativity and artistry from our country. Joe's works has been on exhibit all over the world from Paris, New York, Milan, America, Berlin and Amsterdam.

Ripples

This piece entitled Ripples was created in 2010. Bright shiny stainless steel rings like water droplets from the sky forms ripples that was captured by the imagination of our artist.

I am no art expert but just a person who wandered into an art exhibit due to curiosity. No one was there that time of night just me, my wife and the security. Greeting us with a smile and a good evening near the entrance we went in and was taken by the shiny, gleaming rings. Stainless steel rings were everywhere I looked and felt there is a connection with something iconic. I could not say what it was until my wife told me that he was the grand winner of the Olympics art contest in 2008. It all looked clearer to me now after she told me about it. I should start reading the details which I keep telling myself but always gets possessed once I start looking thru the view finder. Good thing my wife is always beside me when we go out for photo walks, wandering around or discovering places. She sees details which I often over look.

Joe's technique called Fusion merges works from famous artist like Matisse, Miro and Mondrian. I'm not sure who they are but did a little research about Mondrian whose artworks consist of squares and lines with blue, red, yellow, black and white colors on his works. As you notice on those colorful images his rings of infinity rests perfectly which was also inspired by the works of great artists from the past.

Mother and Child

This piece created in 2017 suggest in this scene a mother and child in eternal embrace. For me it symbolizes endless love of a mother to her child.

His artworks are also for sale although the prices were not indicated. But I assume that they would be worth a lot just by looking at them.

Dancing Rings

The winner from the 2008 Olympics sculpture contest out of hundreds of entries from different countries and a prize of $30,000. From then on he stamped his name in the art world and I am proud to share it here.

Homage to Burj Khalifa Skyscraper

It is know to be the tallest structure in UAE it's inspiration may have been thru his travels all over the world.

Seeing these artworks makes me appreciate life even more. Learning new things and discovering achievements of our countrymen. Sharing these experiences here which I enjoy doing and meeting more people with the same interest is the best part of it all.
