Buskers are street performers who provides entertainment in public places. Talents like magic, street art and music which is my favorite are showcased on the streets. They receive cash donations and some of them earn a living by busking. When the company that I work for sent me to Sydney years ago there were a lot of buskers performing in the streets. I was amazed how good they were and you could spend hours just listening to their music on the streets. Here in our country we don't have much street performers unless there is a festival or celebration. During our previous trip to Binondo, Manila we saw a crowd and heard a familiar song. Let me share with you today our very own...........

Busker Child

The music drew a crowd as the music played which compelled me to see what is going on. I saw a man playing an electric guitar using a portable amplifier and what attracted the crowd most is the little girl on drums. You don't see a lot of little girls playing the drums on the streets.

People were flocking just to witness the music and this talented girl. I tried to find a decent spot and managed to find my place as a lot of people were taking videos and photos with their cameras and phones.

Banging her drums they played a familiar local folk song entitled Anak (Child) written and sang by our local folk artist Freddie Aguilar. The song became popular internationally during the late 70's and was also translated into different languages.

The song was also featured in the Korean movie Gangnam Blues in 2014.

A sad song which in reality happens all around us. Our parents try to raise us right but the choice is still up to them if they would do the right thing. I have seen a lot of people who threw away their lives and seeing their parents devastated breaks my heart. It's hard being a parent but I do my best to keep everyone in the family close together and I am always
the lookout and feel if something is not right. I believe that if kids have issues first person they need to run to is their parents. Play with them, talk with them everyday and always do things together. We would teach them the right thing but they still have control of their own destiny it's just up to us to always point them in the right direction.

I do not know the story of this child. Could be that she is helping her father earn a living during weekends or just something they do provide entertainment and earn extra for the family. I am pretty sure with her smile she is enjoys playing and all the attention that she is getting.
