Wild Yellow Roses
One of the joys of having an established homestead, are the varietys of plants, schrubs and trees to enjoy. The homestead here on the Mesa is nearly 100 years old. The original house has been added on to over the years, but the kitchen, living room, and what is above are all original old house. :) There are a couple huge patches of this Wild Yellow Rose on the property. A couple years ago this particular bush was removed so that a much needed shower could be added onto the bathroom downstairs. I had @longsilver did me a trench with his trusty backhoe and replanted the roots out on the north edge of the property. They will make a good wind break someday.
The reason I took this photo in the first place is because it was covered in bright yellow blossoms, but if you look closely you will notice 1 single rose with red on it! I love these little quirks of nature. This is my entry for @kalemandra color challenge. Thanks for letting me join in.
Isnt nature amazing how that one rose could stand out with its reds
I hope they grow well in their new location

Thank you!
these anomalies are extra special when they come through, right? sometimes the flowers just do what they want to do, with no care or regards to the rest of them :)
and WOW! what an incredible rosebush!
Reminds me of myself. :) I've always been a little different. lol
you'd be so boring if you were like everyone else, honey!
I agree :) We couldn't let that happen! lol
ah gorgeous! a 100 yr established homestead! i bet you have so many treasures :) was just dreaming about my roses coming out this spring this morning <3
The lilacs are huge and beautiful also. They could bloom early this year. It's been too warm, the sap is up.
