Dpoll 59: Shouldn't this platform attract more women?

Why do we promote Steem?

Frequently I read Steemit needs more people to join in. To be honest I wonder why. There are plenty of new articles posted daily and the biggest part is never read, commented or receives an upvote.
New Steemians/members are limited if it comes to: publishing, commenting, upvoting unless they buy Steem. The only thing they can do is read. They can read but not comment or perhaps do so twice a day.

It's no secret most Steemians are only here to post and leave.
They are not interested in reading or reading long articles. It takes time and for non native (English) speakers even more.
It's not a secret either that reading on a screen is not the same as reading a book and hardly anyone reads a book these days.

The reading behavior has changed.
No matter what is "asked" or required, a ln article of 1000 words is hardly read and not popular. What is written in 1000 words or more can be written in 500 too if the writer knows how to say more with less words. It annoys to read over and over agsin the same phrases. Readers are not stupid.

It is a fact generally speaking women read more and faster as men and socialize more.
If this platform needs new members at all, want to be social, more readers and commenters are needed. People who are willing to engage.

Wouldn't it be more logical to attract women more to achieve what this platform needs most?

What is the other????

I am afraid that will not help this platform. I have many interests too and even read subjects I might not like. Why? Because it can still be a good read.
The problem is the huge lack of engagement on this platform.
We need readers, commenters, not people who publish a few lines and leave.

Thank you for your vote. 💕

Yeah, it should but unfortunately...

not only women, also men, every person is in equal rights. The body is different between man and woman, but i think the mind and soul are not like body that you can distinguish man and woman, each one is different. Maybe a lot more women are hiding.

I would have liked to write an explanation, but you already wrote one. "It's no secret most Steemians are only here to post and leave. They are not interested in reading..."
Nor supporting other members. They are selfish and greedy. The majority of the users are focus only on their own posts, but they do not care about other people's blog posts. There are 30-32 000 daily active users, 40 000+ posts per day, but the average number of comments is only about/around 3. And most of those comments are bot, bot-like, spam, spam-like comments. This results in a lot of disappointed users, who left/leaving the platform. This is not so appealing for potential new users, nor for the existing users. Right?

I agree. It is not attractive to be here if you do net fit in from day number one + receive help. So we do not need more writers. 💕

Hmm

Females spend longer time between consecutive segments than males and they spend longer time on each segment than males in the reading process.. Females might have taken long time to focus and concentrate on understating the topic while males might have read fast without guarantee to comprehend. These results help psychology and computer science researchers to develop adaptive reading materials and devices. (source)

Interesting. I didn't know there was a difference.
