Sorry!

I had to hand it to him.

As a speaker, Andy was stunning he knew how to sell a piece of shit as a bar of gold.

Auctions are the best place to do so. All greedy people were present plus a small group of newbies who could not tell the difference between art and fake. Even if it was printed in fat on the item they would buy it even take a loan to pay for it. The name of the auction house was guarantee enough to them.
It was fine for me. The only thing I needed was cash, as much as possible and as soon as possible.

In war and love, everything is allowed?
So it is at an auction. True it is a scam but people love to be manipulated and lied too. They were not present to hear the truth but for buying something someone else set his eyes on.

"This is the big test I am supposed to pass?"

His friends grinned. It had been their idea to take him out to this special auction, to get out of the house to do something.
Kind of hilarious since he always did something. They had had a look at the site and items and had told him which one he should buy. It all started out of fun but now it was getting seriously dangerous. Whatever it was he bid on was not worth the price they never intended to make him loose all his money.

"Forget it, I will not pass. You guys forced me into it I will not pass and play this game till the end."

Before his friends new he had raised his hand again.

Each time the young man raised his hand Andy became more enthusiastic and raised the price three times. The attendees clearly had the desire to buy and had plenty of money. It was as if some magician had put a spell on each of them.

"Slow down", she whispered to him. She felt nervous and was afraid he pushed it too far. What if they all backed off and the buyer found out the truth? Her sweat trickled down her neck as she took over the item and showed it once again to the public.

It all went so quick. He raised his hand for the last time, not one single person raised a hand as Andy asked for a higher bid. It became silent and as she looked at him he smiled at her.

"He knows the truth, he knows it is useless", she thought.

"... sold to the gentleman in the middle", Andy said and nodded at her.
She felt frozen as he walked forward to collect it and hand over the money to her.

"Congrats girl your worries are over", Andy whispered, "go over and give it to him."

"Here it is, you should know it is.."

She did a step forward, held out her trembling hand, stumbled and let go of it.

"I am so sorry", she stammered.

There it was on the floor, broke in a million pieces hopefully he was insured and got his money back.
