Today i am really excited for the opportunity given to me to share with you what plagiarism means, types of plagiarism, how to prevent plagiarism and factors of plagiarism.

Definition of plagiarism

Plagiarism is an act of utilizing another authors vocabulary, opinion or ideas without making sources to the original post. It can be discerned as an act of taking prestige for another authors work

Types of plagiarism

There are different types of plagiarism and they are all infringements of intellectual integrity.

• Accidental Plagiarism.
• Direct Plagiarism
• Complete Plagiarism
• Source-based Plagiarism

How to prevent plagiarism

The following strategies should be considered in other to prevent plagiarism:

• Cite your source
• Use plagiarism checker before publishing your work
• making reference always
• use your own ideas,thoughts and vocabulary

Factors of plagiarism

• poor time establishment skills.
• Fear of poor judgment ( not good enough)
• Lack of vocabulary

Taking another authors prestige is theft.

Plagiarism is demonstrating someone else’s work or opinions as your own without their approval and comprising it as your own work without the authors acknowledgement.

Plagiarism may be deliberate, or unintended

Method of citation

The method of citation applies to the way in which we source our work to it origin
By using a quote sign (",") or using the make down sign which is (>)

For example
Apples are a true superfood in my opinion. "Researchers have long been aware of the potential for apple consumption to support balanced populations of bacteria in our lower digestive tract." Source

Apples are a true superfood in my opinion.

The next sentence is copy/pasted from its source without alteration and is thus in quotation marks:

"Researchers have long been aware of the potential for apple consumption to support balanced populations of bacteria in our lower digestive tract." Source

The last sentences is paraphrased information from a different source If you look at the linked sources,

" I have read the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them."
