How important is it to let children experience everything?
When I say let children experience everything - I mean everything under a limit and everything that is important.
But why am I saying this?
I am scared of animals - dogs, cats, rabbits and the list is long. Not that I hate animals - I do love horses and cows. So what seems as the reason to me is I never got a chance to come closer to dogs and cats when I was little and this is the reason I am scared of them now.
Imagine those cute little furry dogs - I am scared of them too. On my previous address, people around had pet dogs of all the kinds - the scary ones, the cute ones, the furry ones. During my evening walks, I would observe that whenever someone walking their dog would closer to my walk-territory, I would just walk away and sometimes literally run away if the dog was left lose from his\her belt. On the other hand, children playing in the park would come around that cute furry dog and play with him\her. I had it in my heart that day and I even wrote it in my to-do list ->
Become Dog friendly
So interestingly, the approach I took is, don't run away when a dog comes near, but it did not work. I figured out that I will be scared of dogs unless I have one of my own. I need to create that bond with a dog and see the love in their love, that is when I will stop getting scared of them.

I believe everyone human should be animal friendly and not be scared of them. We are all one with just different kinds of bodies, all alive sustaining together here on this planet.

So with this belief in my heart, I try to make sure children around me get to experience everything important and sometimes not important, just basic things.
When I was little I did not have any experience of a pool, I never had swimming as a subject in school and not much experience of pools till I entered twenties. So I just ordered one for my nieces so that they can have part of the fun. Sometimes I let kids use my cellphone and laptop just so that they can exposure to everything.
Although I don't have children of my own yet. But yeah would love to have them. The other day I was eating in cafeteria, one of the employees had her children sitting on a table. The kid was around 2-3 years old I guess, I was totally gushing over that kid - Oh God what a pretty amazing little thing, waiting for the day to have one of my own.

Diversity of experience is good but nothing to get hung up on. What matters MORE is giving them skills for self discovery and the confidence and habit to not reject things just because they're new. In some ways, the more mamas and aunties hand all these experiences to kids, the lazier and less equipped they become to navigate the world alone. Let them know it's OK to explore and discover, and just give them open, uncluttered space and time to find their own direction.

100% agree on what you just said, thanks for bringing a new viewpoint for me. - Teach the kids its ok to explore and not just hand over things\experiences.
Dogs are not all the same. Some of them are mean, others aren't. You need to be careful... and judge them individually. Just like people, you can trust some, others not so much. Right?
Oh some dogs can be mean too? Thats new to me. Right with the people, dogs I am gonna think about it.
Sounds like I have a similarity with you on this. I even scared of innocent cows! But I love them.
You said it correct we have to let kids learn what we thing they should for their life, not just what we did not like as a child.

The thing is that dogs can feel that you are scared of them. When you look them in the yes, they feel that you are challenging them and when you are nervous around them they might attack you.
Best is to be firm and commanding with them.
At least the children will not bite you hahaha.

Yeah I have heard dogs can sense fear and maybe that's why they give me a weird look
I will try being more confident in front of them :p
Please remember not to get over confident with them. Some dogs are really aggressive especially when you are in their territory. Other dogs bark and snap if they think their owners are being threatened.
Dogs are pack animals meaning that their owner is the leader of their pack and most dogs will accept you if their owner is friendly with you.
Never just reach out and try to touch a dog. Let them sniff you first!
Beware if they don't like your perfume hahaha (Only joking to get a smile)

Yes! That's a good thing to get over your fear of dogs and become dog friendly and more animal friendly. They can be so much fun and and dogs seem to love unconditionally!
I think that along with getting past your fear it is good to have respect for animals - some of them can be very powerful. Learn to understand them better, for they all have their own nature.
I fully agree to let children have a vast range of experiences and open as many doors as possible for them.
Yeah respecting animals is a sure thing. We are the same beings in different bodies surviving on earth.
