Living by the Sea | Playing photographer #16

I was reminiscing the other day about the time we were living by the Sea. At that time we only have our first dog, Bao. This was how we spend our days.

The day started very early in the morning, so early that most days we will watch the sunrise. Sunrises by the beach are as beautiful as sunsets. The wonderful colors displayed in the sky and the sense of a new day arriving. The ones we loved the most were the orange sunrises, it was like a glass of orange juice, early in the morning, full of vitamin D.

When the water level of the sea was low we had a window into the wonders that are guarded by the ocean. We could see and explore litter habitats, formed by rock, algae, and seashells. We always approached with precaution not to disturb or damage the habitats. It always amazed me how gentle and careful Boa was.

Before going home we will have a brief swim. The temperature of the water was different every month as the climate changed, the hottest in August, the coldest in January. More than swimming Bao would jump and run up and down the beach, with the water up to his knees. Sometimes he would drink a bit of ocean water, I guess it must have been a different experience to taste salty water.

Back home we would continue with our day, with breaks in between chores to play, snuggle, and nap. At the end of the day, we would go to the balcony to watch the sunset, they were stunning. What a privileged view, what a privileged life.

Now we live in a house in the suburbs and have different adventures, but from time to time I will remember the days when we use to live by the sea.
