Dreams in the neither.
The Huge muscular purple goliath was contained and in the chamber fully clothed in dark hooded robe protected by the amulet of the seekers medallion. The giant had been working with a highly toxic ingredient that was necessary for the sciencomantic craft he was perfecting before his next trials in the halls of ancient magi from eons before.
The giant was well suited for this task as his people were well known for their evolved immune systems. Lodos was his name the seventh son of a seventh son his destiny was given as birthright. He knew one day he would serve as his father before him on the council of watchers, as his linage always had. The current task at hand was one which had great and dire consequences should he fail.
The rewards though he knew were more so worth his peril. The ancient tombs he had been studying described a civilization. The ancient race had the ability to create awe inspiring constructions of megalithic proportions . Things such as portals that could transport the initiate to destinations many light years away through space and time by mere thought.
His discovery had caused him to farther research, and had indeed led him to this mysterious insect. The specimen he had captured only lived on a planet with an atmosphere as thick as soup. Psyginas was a cubical planet full of gases that would disintegrate the lungs of oxygen breathing terrains with out proper protective gear. By combining the knowledge he had gleaned from the tombs he had discovered that these ancients had created an elixir.
By combining rare plants of the night shade family combined with the scrapings of a dust like substance from the alien scarab from said planet. On the planet Psyginas the rare scarab had once thrived being of an enhanced psychically gifted insect. It's mode of survival was to lure other smaller insects by mentally projecting an image of a succulent flower until the insect would land upon the flower. Fully intending to drink of it's sweet nectar never knowing that it's thrust would never again be satiated.
Upon landing the psychoscarab would crush the bug through telekinesis and be devoured first the psychic energy then the physical body until the scarabs hunger was filled. Lodos knew if the amount of gases were too much the bug would die and if not enough then he would be in danger of permanent psychosis. But the benefits he would gain, the power of mind over matter, and the ability to not only read the minds of others but feed and improve his own intellect as well as mind control. No this would not stop him.
