RE: Incredible You! - Connect To The Moment And Enhance Your Power With Sound

in #incredibleyou7 years ago (edited)

First of all why not contact me directly instead of shouting all over my blog.

Why would I privately inform you of a brazen and public wrong? This blog is where the infractions occurred!!

How would I even do that? You don't list a toll-free number or have an abuse email address!

Secondly, the pictures I use are always in the public domain, for instance the anechoic chamber, was taking from a Russian blogging site, and there are quite literally hundreds of photos of that chamber sitting for free on the web.

Really? Always? That is absurd, as I just showed you four which are not in the public domain. You clearly do not understand how copyrights work! A copyright lasts at least the life of the person who creates a work, and usually many decades afterward. You have heard of J.R.R./ Tolkien? He's dead, but his works are still copyrighted. Just because 50,000,000 people read his works, and they have been published worldwide, do not make them "public domain"!!

I have shown you to be a copyright infringer and now your response is that you always use public domain images. Strike Two!

I was not aware were stock

So? Now that I have shown this and proven that they are non-free images, why don't you go pay for them! That is one option. Or how about removing them and apologizing to the artists and to Business Wire for using their images without permission? Or how about apologizing to the Steem community for your improper use of licensed artwork?

Strike three. You are out.

I guess downvoting my comment just because you don't like the message about your copyright violation is going to clear your conscience?

Maybe next time it could be the rights holder, the stock image company, or a lawyer who comes knocking on your door. My comment was strictly to make you aware of your egregious errors, and you kill the messenger. I didn't downvote your post or write anything untruthful. You can go right on saying that the one image is public domain, claim how ubiquitous it is, or claim that I am a troublemaker... when the truth is staring at everyone...

You are an unrepentant copyright infringer.

Welcome to Steem where we just post whatever non-free image we find on the web and try to get people to PAY us to do that.

(Edit: You clearly don't know what a royalty-free image is. That means that if and only if you license it through the Stock Image company, then you can use it for unlimited time, with multiple impressions. It has nothing to do with being free to use... it's just a type of license that is not free. Please see the oversimplified explanation here at Wikipedia or go to a stock images site for what this means.)
