From a water bottle to a T-shirt - plastic recycling
As we all know, recycling is really important in today's world. But one thing that I always wondered, is what happens to the trash we put in the recycle bin? Obviously, everyone has some idea about it. The trash is transported to some kind of recycling plant where they... do something and we magically get usable plastic stuff.
In this post I'd like to show what exactly happens in those plants and what can we get from used bottles. Did you know that right now you may be wearing clothes made from recycled plastic?
I found two videos that present two ways of recycling plastic. The first one shows processing used bottles into clothing, while on the second one you can see the process of creating new bottles from trash*. I think that's great! If we can keep recycling bottles into new bottles, we might minimize the need for producing more plastic, which would surely affect the environment in a good way!
* - actually by the end of video you can only see plastic pellets which are later shipped to bottle factories.
