OK, I SCORED 26 of these actually, and 2 huge chargers...
FOR FREEEEEE!!!
Spectrum Cable had a changeover to new batteries and chargers, and my work bud (Thanks Brando!!!) said his b.i.l. told him if anyone wants these, come and gettem! I just happened to be close, so I swung over and it took me like 45 minutes to Tetris them all in my Tahoe, which still had my road junk from the last 2 jobs cluttering it up LOL! But I got all of them, because it takes a literal TON of batteries to run a home on a battery bank for very long. With the 2 chargers, I was right at 1900# and my tires looked quite strained... but I made it! WHEW...

Some of the batteries are bad in some respect, but I have the technology to revive and rejuvenate L.A.B.'s of all types. (that's Lead Acid Battery for the uninitiated) Also N.I.M.H. and NiCad types. Using my forthcoming STG (Simplified TESLA Generator) I should be able to charge the whole batch with one small Solar Panel :D UPS for the home, anyone? :D

Pretty awesome haul! Glad you were lucky enough to snag them! Resteemed!

Thanx for the re-STEEM, Sweeetnesss! :* <3

LOL you're funny Big Rob! Also, nice score!

Hello K.K! :*
I was driving up to sign the books in Indy for another job and made this SCORE...
;)

Like the old saying goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure"

In this case, "One cable company's Trash is this Mole's TREASURE!" :D

Awesome, glad they are going to be put to good use instead of disposed of.

Well, a lead acid battery has a very good recycle value, these were likely at least $15 or more each. The ones I found online were 68# so I'd guess $15 to $20 range. Car batteries are around 10 iirc... Thanks for stopping by, Krista!

Awesome! Can't beat free fiddy for good stuff like that!

I Know, Right??? :D
These retail for around $140 each, saved myself at least $3500 or more...
But I have to invest some elbow grease, and sweat equity ;) Maybe buy
some acid to top them off. The rejuvenator can make them better than
new, if I get them back to working order. LAB's are great for this, the new
charging process uses high voltage pulsed DC and it basically nano-assembles
the plates and they can hold a higher voltage and ampacity. 25% gains after
a few cycles are very common!

sweat equity is usually the best kind! If I'm interpreting that correctly thats sounds like some pretty solid gains out of those batteries and makes it even more worth your time!

Yes, a 25% gain in ampacity means 25% longer run times.
With the same load, of course. My home is mostly LED lighting and pretty energy efficient, so I suspect I can do well with just this bank of 26 provided I get them all working. The 2 big 220v AC chargers can get the bank back up quickly once grid power returns, but I suspect I will just use those for parts. There were 2 more of the big chargers, but I was totally loaded down! LOL

Awesome! I've started slowly moving to LED bulbs, and I mean very very slowly, just bought my first 2 and will try and replace all of them in the house eventually.

I just put in 3 more after our last exchange, thanks for the motivation!
I keep the old CFL's, even the burned out ones. There is a very, VERY Old TESLA Driver Circuit for fluorescents, that is even more efficient than the LEDs! You can power a CFL for about .333W and when you add the second CFL, one would think 2/3W, right? NO! It is actually about .4W for both! Imagine lighting a whole house for ONE WATT! The "burned out CFL" is really not dead, it has these little filaments in each end. Those burn out and the bulb is useless with the on board, inefficient driver circuit, but the Tesla Driver uses one side of the lamp as (+) and the other as (-) so unless the bulb is cracked or broken, it can still work! The T-Driver boosts voltage to around 200,000 VDC and actually glows brighter than the regular CFL. That Nikola Tesla really had his stuff together! ;)

That's pretty cool, 😎
Running a bank of batteries to run lights and electricy especially with a solar panel is an efficient way to keep yourself safe and off the grid plus Lower the electric bill.

Yes, and cycling the batteries is actually good for them with the new charging system!
They get STRONGER with repeated discharge/charge cycles! I had some new Radio Shack
NiMH batteries, they gained like 20 to 25% more run time as I used them. It is a John Bedini
charging system, works fabulously :D

This works on up to 100AH batteries, it will be to rejuvenate them. They make bigger units, for
larger banks and higher voltages also. I have spoken to Rick Friedrich on the phone a few times,
he is a good and honest man and great to deal with. He has even encouraged me in my STG Venture,
he knows the technology WORKS and is very supportive.

I want one of those, JUST PLUG THE CABLES AND PUT THEm AGAINST MY TEMPLE AHHHHHHHHH

You had better do that in the comfort of your own home, my friend! ;)

I was about ready to start buying some batteries, but now I can concentrate on the rest of the build, and getting these cells back into working condition! If the ones marked BAD are the only ones, it is perhaps 8 or so that need work. maybe the others are all good? Weak is fine, I can just rejuvenate after I top off the acid/electrolyte...

Thank You!
I should do a pictorial with text of the UPS bank build...
