Tips For a Busy Life (how to be productive)

Life is busy. Staying up to date with your work is difficult. REALLY difficult.

As a high school senior, I know life is not as busy as it could be, but with the exams two weeks away, I am finding that I have less time and much more things to do.

So here are some things that keep me sane. I hope that they will help you get through the exams, or just help you in your everyday life.

Here goes:

  1. Buy a day planner and USE IT.

This seems pretty simple, right? Well, when overwhelmed by all the thing that I have to do, writing due dates down in my Planner really brings some calm in the midst of a storm. AND sometimes writing down when something has to be done, it motivates you to actually start working on it. Writing something down often makes is a reality rather than some distant task.
    Planning is KEY
Planning your life seriously improves your productivity.
  1. Make a list
Make a list of what has to happen in the coming week. And make a STD (stuff to do) list for every day. You can even add times for every task. Eg
    12:00 - 13:00 Study for German test
    13:15 - 14:15 Work on art assignment
    14:15- 15:00 Summarise Biology
Remember to leave some time for breaks as well!

  2. Have a calendar

Now this one might sound a lot like having a day planner, but it helps you to see when tasks are due on a wider scale. When you see how many tests or task you have due in one week, you are more likely to start studying earlier because you realise how little time you have.

A healthy life is a productive life

This might seem cliche, but that's because it is REALLY IMPORTANT
A healthy life includes the following:

4)Eating enough, healthy and nutritious food.
Food is fuel. Unhealthy foods will leave you feeling sluggish and tired and you will find it hard to get through a busy day.

  1. Getting enough sleep.
I know this one is hard, especially for students, but even six hours can get you through a day. Studies show that someone can function perfectly on 4 hours of sleep, but 6-10 hours is the goal. Sleeping for 4 hours every night can lead to sleep depravity, which will lower focus and productivity. Working more is not always the answer, sometimes sleeping more is.

  2. Exercising for at least half an hour every day.
This may include any cardio, even just walking. Cardio is a great way to reduce stress, thus it is a great way to stay focused during exams and busy work schedules.
As Meridith Grey says: Dance it out.
Dancing to up beat music is a great way to do cardio and have fun in the midst of stressful times. (It has my stamp of approval)
