"Talk about traditional food of my country"

Hello friends,
It's actually been a long time since I last made an entry. I have been so engaged with work, and last was a very hectic week for me. Well, I am here in the new week, and I hope it's promising for me and you.
Let me share with you the traditional food of my country...

I am from Nigeria, where we have so much food from the farm. These foods are mostly our traditional foods; the tubers are mostly seen everywhere in my country, of which one of these tubers (yam) is a traditional food in my country.
In my country, yam is well respected to the extent we have what we call the new yam festival that is celebrated every year. Nigeria is a country filled with lovely and sumptuous traditional foods.
Each tribe in my country has their own different traditional foods, and since I'm from Africa, yam is mostly our traditional food. It can be prepared in different ways and is always delicious.

Well, I could remember when my grandmother was alive; she told us a story about the history of yam. She said that the blacks always like to eat heavy foods because they don't feel so satisfied when they eat the simple foods.
She further said that Yam was discovered by an old man who went to the farm one day to clear the bushes. As he was doing his work, he noticed a tuber inside the ground and decided to dig deep to discover what it was.
He finally got it out and took it home to show his family. They finally roasted it and ate it, and since then, yam has become a traditional food in Africa.
This food became a traditional food because it is strong and healthy. It is seen as a very strong food that can be used for traditional ceremonies since the men love the strong foods like tubers.

I love yam so much. I usually enjoy it more when I travel back home. Just like I said earlier, yam can be prepared in different ways, and I most enjoy it when prepared portage.
I remember when I was home alone with my dad, my mom and siblings traveled, and I had to make dinner. Well, yam was the option, and I went to the kitchen and started the preparations. I prepared portage yam, and it was so delicious. My dad was amazed at the taste of this food. He ate even more.

These ingredients are just for portage yam. There are other ingredients for a different way of preparation. Maybe one day, I would share it with us.
