So, I believe developing a skill is mandatory, there are some common skills which layman can do. If we take the field of Virtual Assistance there skills are like data entry, excel, internet search, etc. The more common skill means it is easier to learn and also means competition. Competition means you are going to face the problem of low prices for your services.
The point here I am trying to make is that you should go for a different skill which is not common and has the future scope.
