Portrait of "Truffie"

Completed another pet portrait for a friend of my fathers recently. I took pictures of the process so I could share it here. My last picture was a bit better I think; but I still feel I am progressing with watercolors.

Here is the picture my dad sent me to approximate for his friend. Truffie looks like a such a cutie.
I started in with watercolor pencil and outlined where every bit of Truffie would be.

Then I washed him in with water, and the immediate results are ugly as usual. I wonder if I might change this tactic next time. A dryer brush perhaps; or going right in with watercolor?

Then I started on the floor. I am being critical of myself; I know some warping is normal but I think I should be more minimalist with huge washes of color in the future.

Next I added in the darker areas.

Then added details.

Then I looked closer at the computer image (I had printed out an image) to fill in details I had missed.

I need to practice more with doggies before I do my next portrait. It has been fun though.

Very well done, compliments! I know how difficult it is, to do any larger area with watercolor. I used to practice it by just filling larger and larger squares with a color as evenly as possible. Not sure if the use of watercolor pencils makes it easier, for it is easier to use lighter colors with more water, so I find it amazing, how you accomplished your painting.
Just placed some bids on some of your art on makersplace. Too bad you are no longer active there. You were the first artist ever on makersplace and I think it would be good for you to come back :-)

Thank you! Not sure how I am not active there. Maybe some pieces were purchased that I need to renew;I will check. Edit; oh I got stuck when I had to verify my identity again let me get back to that

I hope some day my work can be as detailed as as yours. Still trying to figure out how to accept the bids. Metamask confuses me

Your work is great as it is. I love the feeling you put into your paintings and the originality which makes it undoubtedly yours. As for accepting the bid... I just click the accept bid button. Don't you have it? Maybe check "manage store" -> "live offers"
Plus there is a discord for makersplace, with a support channel, in case you are stuck somewhere. Hope you get it to work... and add some new art!

I was able to approve it but it still says “ pending acceptance” they say it is slow lately.

Thank you for approving. Strange that still nothing is showing up on my side :-(
