Love Quotient 爱商

According to Jack Ma, LQ stands for love quotient, and something that the machines can never have. To him, LQ can help to earn respect. Certainly, Ma is right in distinguishing between a human being and a machine, and what indeed constitutes humanity is the ability to love.

Indeed, human beings do not only have the ability to love, but also the inclination to destroy. From the history, there were leaders utilising force to strengthen their regimes. The good news is that authoritarian regimes have faded away, and love never ends.

Napoléon Bonaparte said it correctly, “Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded his empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for him.”

Jack Ma mentioned that LQ can help people earning respect. Nevertheless, love does not concern too much about respect. Rather, it is about the transforming power for those responding to it today.
