Garden City 花园城市

We are in Singapore and being put up in a friend’s house in Choa Chu Kang. Choa Chu Kang was more like a village several decades ago. And it is now well developed with many flats and apartments.

One unique feature as a common landscape for Singapore is its green environment. There are many trees and plants in this well developed city. The green environment gives us freshness and serenity within an urbanised setting.

In an urbanised well developed society, it is natural for the people to be busy in order to cope up with the so-called high standard of living. But the green environment, perhaps, is a reminder that we should not over stress ourselves. Instead, we should take time to relax and unwind ourselves from time to time.

我们到了新加坡，并住在蔡厝港的一位朋友家里。好几十年前，这只是一个倘待开发的郷镇；她如今已备受开发，並拥有现代化组屋和公寓。

新加坡拥有共同的景观即是其绿色环境。这个发达的城市有许多树木和植物，这绿色的城市也令人有新鲜和宁静感。

处在一个发达的城市，人们很自然地会忙于应对所谓的高生活水平。然而绿色环境则可以提醒我们不要过度劳累；反而我们要懂得不时放松自己以取得所需的休息。
