Hello SteemIt! I am Tuaha Sohail from Pakistan

Hey Steemians!

I am Tuaha Sohail and I joined Steemit a few weeks back. I have not been actively participating here, but I have decided to change that and I'll start that by introducing myself over here.

So, I am 26 years old and I graduated with a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering in 2014 from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad,Pakistan. In the real world, a bachelors degree alone doesn't guarantee you a job, especially in a country where engineers produced by universities are significantly more than their demand in the market. I had to learn that the hard way as I struggled for about a year to land a decent job, and it wasn't all down to lack of opportunities, but also due to lack of serious effort to find one from my end. However, soon enough I had to improvise and look for jobs in other streams, as jobs directly related to my field were not that many or easy to find.

I did eventually land a job in the Telecom industry and how I did that is very interesting, but that story is for some other day. The work has been a good experience for me so far; I work for a Chinese multinational vendor ZTE (a global communication solution provider) on a project with Telenor - Norwegian based operator - one of the leading Telcos in Pakistan. I believe that I have had good success here, and have managed to climb the hierarchy ladder quicker than most in my workplace.

However, I feel that to really establish myself in this industry, I need to go and pursue a masters degree, preferably from a reputed university from abroad. So, I have started to look for options overseas. At the moment, I am not really in a position to fully fund my studies on my own, so I am exploring options to raise a few extra bucks.

The potential of Cryptocurrency and success of bitcoin has really intrigued me, and I have been doing my research on it and would like to cash in on this opportunity. Along the way, I came across this social media platform called SteemIt where I could actually make money by doing something that I enjoy - writing!! So, here I am...

I hope I've not lost you by now by sharing irrelevant details, so over to my hobbies and things that are more interesting about me.

I love to interact with people from all over the world which is why I am very active on twitter (@tuahasohail). It not only keeps me updated with what's happening all around the world, but also allows me to learn and explore different cultures. My time on twitter has helped me understand people better, grow as a person and broaden my horizons as well.

I have met many like-minded and interesting people on twitter and hope to do the same on SteemIt. I also want to change the perception about my country, and tell them about the positive things to come out of Pakistan. I get surprised and worried at how wrong some people can be about my country and countrymen. The world media doesn't help either by only showing negative news to come out of here, but I think interaction on social media is helping change that perception. Interaction with people all over the world is good and should be encouraged everywhere. Life is short- we shouldn't have time for so much hatred, instead we should be tolerant of beliefs of people that are not like us or come from different backgrounds.

I haven't had much time to pursue my hobby of writing since I started my job, but I used to write a lot - mostly on sports. I used to write for this website - sportpulse.net - and worked for them for over a year. I wrote on cricket, boxing, tennis, and of course football.

Now over to football - I am crazy about it and Liverpool is my favorite club. I am a very passionate fan, and I mean that when I say that, as I don't usually miss out on any of their matches even if I have to stay up till 3 am Pakistani time to watch them live in action. I keep up-to-date with the latest gossip and news about the club.... and well you get the gist of it.

I also like to think of myself as a good sportsman - but I'm more a jack of all trades, except maybe football where I have had my good days - like that long range last gasp winner at my university against the local favorites in the knockout stage of the competition :p Yes.. I am pretty decent at finding the net from looong range! Oh, them good days...and here's a few pictures to prove my sporting abilities.

More about me; I enjoy hanging out with my friends and I have a small group of friends who I really cherish. We have had a lot of good times, and though most of us are not situated in the same city or even country now, we keep in touch all the time mainly thanks to the INTERNET, and also meet up whenever possible! I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to have lived in two countries other than Pakistan, i.e. USA and China - for two years each, thanks to my father who was posted there on work on both occasions. I wish I was a bit older when I was in the United States (just 4 years old), so I don't really remember my time over there. But, I do remember my time in Chengdu, China where I was 11 years old when we moved there. What a country - great and such hard working people and the economical growth there is amazing.
