The Red Beauty
In these times where everyone is raving about the announced Tesla UglyTruck and the Sony Electric Car that's going to be presented very soon, I'd rather much prefer to own an old classic such as this MGB GT V8 from the early 1970's.
I found this red beauty as I was going out for lunch in the city of Porto and I couldn't resist to stop and grab a few shots.
Yep, I circled around it to cover all the angles. What a cute little car and it seems to be in a pristine condition, as if it had come out from the stand yesterday and not half a century ago.
Yes, you've read it right. This particular model was only produced between 1973 and 1976 - which means this car is nearly 50 years old.
The tree standing next to the car prevented me from taking some side shots but that wasn't going to stop me. So, I crossed the street to grab a couple more shots, which wasn't difficult since it was a Sunday morning and there was almost no traffic to mess up my photos. 😊

It's great to go back to the simpler times of automotive past. The MGB GT is a pretty great little sports car, although its rare to see one in such a good condition as this. I hoped you'd stay longer to hear the car start up, because the MGB GT made a great noise, especially considering its small engine.
Actually, I didn't... considering the hour of the day and the place it was parked, it was not likely that someone would appear anytime soon.

Ah, that's unfortunate, though it was still an incredible opportunity that you've had with this, since seeing classic MGB GTs running are rare indeed. I hope to see more from you, soon!

It’s a shame they went from the nice chrome bumpers to the plastic ones. But I suppose it made sense at the time, and everybody else did the same.
The old bumpers were good... but they were also very dangerous for those who happened to be on the other side of the accidents. They could easily kill someone. 🤔
