The best possible start
I got my dad ( @len.george) onto Steemit just a little while ago.
He has been telling stories since I was a kid. Some of them might have even been true.
I have been trying to get him to write some of these stories down, and even started a website to collect them all in. But that never happened. It was a good idea, but it just didn't seem to click.
Then I told him about Steemit, and he was intrigued. Money for his bullshit stories seemed like a good trade.
So he started writing about his life in the Royal New Zealand Airforce.
His first post about the airforce got 177 upvotes. That's huge!
So yesterday we put up two more stories.
Start of my journey as a Boy Entrant in the RNZAF in 1956
The continuing story of my journey as a Boy Entrant in the RNZAF in 1956
We do this over Skype, with me editing the stories and then stepping him through the posting process, until he gets the hang of it himself.
Again he got 177 votes for the first post. But the second post got picked up by SteemVoter and he was voted Author of the Day. That post now has 522 upvotes!
It's just gone 8am the following day, and my dad is already out of bed and at the computer, probably writing and looking for images for his stories.
So thank you Steemit for your support of my dad. It's great to see him enthused about this and putting his memories down on the blockchain.
I'm also learning more about the things he got up to as a kid, and discovering that I actually wasn't that bad as a child, when you consider my origins....
So check out @len.george and give him a vote and comment on his stories. It will make the grumbly old fart happy and help to keep him motivated to put down his history.
If you have someone in your family that loves to tell a good tale, get them on Steemit and get those stories recorded so they are not lost when the story teller is gone.
Are you new to Steemit and trying to figure out what it's all about?

The problem is keep the stories seemly, suitable for mixed audiences, most of them are male only, but we will see what happens.
I went over to check out his stories they are fabulous, great to have some NZ history coming on the block-chain.
Haha let him tell his stories lol, maybe just put R18 on what you think might not be suitable then people can decide weather or not to read them.
Big Brother is watching. George Orwell had it right in his 1984. Will use the polite yarns first, progress to the seemier ones later, maybe.
Haha Len, just realized it was your comment not Trevor's.
Good idea, give a back story first.
