I’m not kidding. We went to the supermarket this afternoon a look what was on sale – hot cross buns.

WTF?!!!
I’m still full from Christmas lunch. Not to mention all the food from New Year’s Eve.
I'm actually wondering if these are the leftovers from last year...
Does this happen anywhere else in the world, or is it just here that supermarkets have gone nuts?

They have some new trainee cooks that have to learn how to mix, cook, and decorate hot cross buns, then to get rid of them they offer them, at a reduced price, to the shoppers.
Besides, you can eat them at any time of the year and enjoy them.
But five days after New Year? Couldn't they wait until like, March or something?
They'll be putting up the Christmas lights on Easter Sunday next.
They know the mental state of the Wellington shoppers.
Start early, repeat the message continually, and hope they realize that Easter/Christmas/My Birthday/whatever that is important is coming so they don't miss it.
They have to do that, people that want to live on 3 or 4 fault lines in the Shakey Isles need plenty of help.
I wouldn't mind so much, but this batch was crap. I thin it had chocolate chips in it instead of raisins...
