Liverpool defender faces five years in prison

Liverpool defender Diane Loffrin will be tried on charges of "perjury" in a corruption case involving a 5-year sentence in prison in Croatia.
The Croatian defender will appear before the court on Tuesday after allegations of false testimony in an investigation into corruption in football, which could put him in jail for five years if found guilty, The Sun newspaper said.

The prosecutor in Croatia said Lofren had lied under oath about his move from Croatian club Dynamo Zagreb to Lyon in 2010.

Lofrin's move is part of a lengthy investigation into the former Dynamo Zagreb president, Zdravko Mamic, who is accused of embezzling $ 19 million.
