Torico's Sustainability Curation
photo by torico Hi everyone. This is my Curation Page for the week of February 12th - February 18th. I will be featuring some of my best finds for new writers posting on the topic of sustainability. The tags I look for deal with earth friendly living, including intentional communities, recycling, climate, homesteading, eco-building, ecology and whatever else pop up. The Minnow Support Project has multiple curators that pick five posts from under-valued minnows each week to highlight through MSP3k. This way MSP and PAL can promote new writers and content creators on Steemit, and in effect reward them for doing a superior job. In my particular curation, I try to concentrate specifically on newer authors that write sound articles on a variety of interwoven topics. Hopefully I can recognise a different set of people than the other curators in order to boost recognition and appreciation of new Steemians. The following posts are my Sustainability picks for this week: from The Blockchain and Fish - Atieno's Story My first entry is from talented author cmbugua entitled The Blockchain and Fish - Atieno's Story. I love the authors straight-forward and simple style of imparting information that explains while it teaches. This post shows a unique solution to several community problems using blockchain technology. Also be sure to check out Is Classroom Environmental Quality Hindering Learning?. from Technologies that will change the world in the next 30 years In Technologies that will change the world in the next 30 years, author zarxis sets down three novel concepts that may or may not come to pass in the future. I won't ruin it by discussing beforehand, but some of these are pretty science fiction in concept and I'd want to understand about possible repurcussions before I thought about implementing them, however they definitely pinged my tech-nerdy imaginative "what if" side. Good idea, bad idea? What do you think? from New at our Farm for 2018: Crypto as Accepted Payment Method! Schoonercreek is up next with an article entitled New at our Farm for 2018: Crypto as Accepted Payment Method!! Well the title really says it all, but if you want to know the how and why, give this post a look to see how easy it is! Wouldn't it be nice to not have to convert and give the government a portion of your money? I'm hoping a lot more small businesses and farmers markets will pick up on this trend :) I loved Herb Fascination: Borage by goldenoakfarm! Learning how to grow, prepare and utilize local herbs in various capacities can take a lifetime of study. This is an in depth look at just one of them, Borage or Starflower, with notes on the type of soil they like, cultivation, identification, along with a few potential home uses. I'd grow it just to take photos and enjoy all of the lovely colors and textures - downright gorgeous! from OBTAINING ACTIVE CHARCOAL FROM COCONUT In his article OBTAINING ACTIVE CHARCOAL FROM COCONUT, by fernandogonzalez, the author offers a detailed look into the diverse applications of coconut fiber.Since coconut shells are a plant based renewable resource and biodegradable, they provide a sustainable supply of active charcoal. This post discusses using active charcoal as an effective solution to dealing with the toxic effects of environmental pollution. Honorable Mentions Below are a few interesting articles and exceptional posts I found that either do not fit in to a category or did not get first pick, yet I wanted to mention. Please check them out and give them some love where needed. It's Hard to Be Human by sunravelme Grow A Perennial Food Garden! by walkerland From Grass to a Vegetable Polyculture - My 2nd Suburban Garden - Part 1 by sagescrub eco+, an ecological guarantee based on the wisdom of the crowd by freegardens Wildcrafting 101 by mountainjewel How we Made Money living our Nomadic Life by trucklife-family from Wildcrafting 101 I am always looking for new steemit writers to curate and support. I urge you to read and comment on some of the articles above and comment here if you have any feedback. Also, if you would like to be considered for next weeks curation, drop me a link for the current week via dm, in my PAL-sustainability channel, or on this post. Hopefully you will feel some of the authors or posts mentioned here are worth an upvote and follow. Thanks for reading!!

Nice work torico. Good to see so many projects going up around the world centered on sustainability.
This is also a form of decentralisation. Humanity evolved out from sustainable farming and I think we should have a look at going at least partially back to that state.
Thank you for the mention lovely ❤ there are a ton of great posts here and I loved checking them out!
I loved this read! This topic is close to my heart.
Is that your home, the cool photo of the New Mexican beehive?
