My "bibchain" collection...
Did you keep anything as a memory of the races you have run?
I try to keep all the bibs since 4 years ago and, if they are good, also a few some t-shirts and other presents as towels, socks...
Today, I have been arranging my wardrobe, and look what I found:
I put them on the kitchen's floor and I took this photo...
It' s a pitty that I didn't keep the bibs of the races I run till 4 years ago...
Each and every one of these bibs has a story to tell.
Looking at them I think I can remember every race, specially the feelings... how I suffered, how I did enjoy, that injure which though will be permanent, the friends I met, the conditions, the weather, the after-run party...
Emotions and experiences.
In some way, we also live from the memories...from them we learn, from them, somehow, we are what we are and, although we must always look ahead, a look back is always needed in order to understand what we did, where we are and towards where we are going...
I haven’t been running as long as you and not done no where near as many races but I have my numbers all in a folder, so I can see them and see what I’ve accomplished and how far I’ve come. I’m very proud of them and you definitely should be of all yours xx
Yes, I am!
How great is your kitchen floor on this pic! Bravo!!! Congrats for all the races done (and of course: I also keep all of mine in a special drawer ;)
Thanks @dailyrunner !
you are a romantic @toofasteddie, well done life are these little details:)
Yes, I confess I am a romantic. Feelings are important to me and believe me, not always easy to deal with when you have to take decisions
That's a beautiful sight! Glad you can look back on all of those accomplishments. I keep all my bibs and write my times down so I can see how I've progressed. I have them all set aside to put in a scrapbook, but haven't quite gotten that far yet.
My boyfriend also made me a medal rack for my wall, so it's fun to look through all my hardware from time to time and think about the feeling of pure joy earning some of them. Although I've been running long enough now I either need to put some another place for safe keeping or get him to make another one for me before it falls off the wall from all the weight on it! It's neat to see the different ways people save their racing mementos!
so? do a post showing that wall :-) !!!
Haha, alright. Perhaps after I get my medal for finishing my half on the 10th. ;)
Can't say I have anything similar of course, but I think that is such a cool idea! Great and easy way to just remember all the miles and journeys you've been on :).
Geez makes me really wish I had kept all mine from the 15 years I've been doing this. Great shot though and you're right about the memories
