Stories of a backpacker: Christmas in Thailand - Fourth Chapter, "What a Waterfall Day!"

in #travel7 years ago

"The point is that when I see a sunset or a waterfall or something, for a split second it's so great, because for a little bit I'm out of my brain, and it's got nothing to do with me. I'm not trying to figure it out, you know what I mean? And I wonder if I can somehow find a way to maintain that mind stillness."
-Chris Evans

The 27th of December. I, my German friend and a new Holland friend of mine decide to rent some motorbikes and explore a bit more the Island.
Koh Chang is a small Island in the Eastern Thailand, it has a main road going around of it, besides the coast.
More than for having the shape of an Elephant's head (Chang=Elephant), the small paradise is famous to have beautiful beaches and two natural waterfalls.

What a Waterfall day!

We park our motorbikes after around 20 minutes of driving to the internal part of the island.
There is a small 15 minutes walk to do, but we are young and energized from the big breakfast we had right before renting our vehicles.
It's a wonderful sunny day and the warm hits us during the trip, but once arrived we don't regret our decision.

It is quite crowded, but it's normal, the day is perfect.

Let's have some fun, it's time to cool down in the water!

After playing and relaxing in the fresh water, we decide to take our way back to the scooters. There is the other half of the island to visit and we spend the rest of the daylight driving around.

One of the most carefree days of my life, this is a real taste of freedom.

I love thailand so much I moved here from germany around 3 month ago.

It will be a bit stressful with the visa from time to time but to live a while in the countries nearby (laos, kambodia or even bali) for a while dosnt sound so bad either atm

I really like to recomned Koh Mook, I had one of the most relaxing times there.

Looking forward to more stories.

That's so cool, consider I instead moved from Italy to Germany, where I live now! But I love those countries, I will write also about Cambodia ;-)

well Italy is awsome as well.

Visiting Thailand in October, thank you for the article. It is very helpful!!

You will love it there, I wrote other posts about Thailand and still have to write more. Glad to be helpful :-)

Tell me something. What is the best way to go island hopping?

The nicest island hopping would be from Bangkok to Koh Tao, then Koh Phangan (full moon party), Koh Samui. After that changing side of the country and visiting the Phi Phi Islands.

How do I get onto those boats? How much does it cost?

It's full of travel agencies, especially in Bkk. You can just go and ask for what you need. The prices are really cheap, it depends on the distance (obviously), but 10$ is the average for short trips.

Excellent adventures!

Thanks Stacey , I will follow you, cause I think you will write some posts about cool travels as well ;-)

Thank you! I followed you as well :)
