Why I chose to be public on Steemit.

If you missed my previous post, I would suggest you read that one first.

There, I briefly introduced myself and talked about why I would like to share my life story.

What I have learnt so far is that we, humans, have the tendency to be dreamers. To become emotionally attached to characters in movies and books.

Simply put ... we LOVE stories. We LOVE to be emotional.

Think about it for a second...
Why are animated cartoons for kids so popular even among adults?
...

We love to fantasize about what it would be like if we could be the robot in "The Iron Giant", or Woody from "The Toy Story"

There has not been an animated cartoon, which has not caught me by the heart in some way or the other. It's because they teach us LOVE and compassion. And even though it sometimes hurts us, even sadness and disappointment. I believe they are all good things to experience.

Now, as hard as it may sound, I never really thought of myself as being exceptional at anything I did. Even though I had some minor accomplishments, I still can't shake off this itch at the back of my head. One could argue that I'm being too hard on myself, but I never felt like it.

I always thought I could do more, yet somehow, I really couldn't.

Because of this, I've always had the tendency to pick the underdog as my favourite character. The one that's always beat up, but somehow manages in the end.

And so, I too, would like to somehow manage.

Even more though, I would like for every other human being that feels the same way to somehow manage as well. Because I believe, that every one of us is entitled to happines, no matter the circumstances.

All of this, has been a result of one thing and one thing only. Throughout my teens, I was emotionally unstable. I avoided love, because I felt hurt. I will explain why in the next post.

I firmly believe, that one can not have a positive impact on anyone, unless they are on the same frequency, so to speak.

This is why I want to share my stories with YOU, so that WE, can become stronger TOGETHER.

If you are still reading this, you are probably thinking: "This is a very depressing post."

It may sound like it, but it's actually a happy post. Many of the past wounds have been healed already.

To ease things off with a sprinkle of black humor, here is a quote from "The Last Boy Scout"

In conclusion, the reason why I chose to present myself publicly on the steemit network, is that I want people to know and feel that, even though they might think they are alone, they truly are not.

I am fully aware of the risks that are involved with sharing private information on the internet and as such, it should be avoided. However, I've been given a gift of creative mind and an undying urge to express myself and share my thoughts and feelings with people I don't even know, simply because I care for the humanity and believe there is good in all the people.
