It's not about them

Here's my daily portrait! In my photography, I usually convey a mood in each image, much to the mood I was feeling at the time the photo was taken. There are some who get their subject to show their expression, but I have a different insight.
I simply find that each image I share has a piece of myself in there somewhere, well of course I'll always be in the eye reflection if you look closely enough, but of course, my expression in an image is right in front of you, it's whatever feeling hits you the moment you look at it.
Whether it be bright and colourful or a moody mono abstract piece. There's a story in there somewhere, and it's up to you, the viewer, to find it.
I absolutely agree with you in that every image and more so every portrait is actually a true portrait of the photographer and not so much about the person in the photo. And even though that does sound egoistically, portraiture is always about the photographer and not about the subject. Subject is a means through which we get to show ourselves. I am so please to read that you feel in a similar way. :) Great portrait!
Yes! Someone who understands! It sounds weird I guess as people are obviously looking at a different person, and not the photographer. But for me, there’s a reason I decided to click the shutter at that moment, and there’s a reason for editing certain aspects of an image afterwards to make it look the way it does. However subtle or obvious. There’s always a message. I admire your work, especially the self portraits, because it’s the most direct form of expression. For me, I think I’d make a useless model for myself and the whole process of self portraiture is quite intimidating. Although I’d love to pull it off how you do!
I' d say as a photographer you should always challange yourself. I assume you already know that only in that way you can truly grow and discover those little beautiful things about the process that only you know and that makes your work really YOUR work. So just like with steemit or your dtube daily vlogs, challange yourself to try it out and see the magic happen. There is no failing in expressing oneself. :)
