AM I REALLY PREPARED TO TEACH?
You must be the change you wish to see the world.
Mediocrity is starting to creep into the world of education and learning.
As an intern 3 years ago, I kept on asking myself if I really am prepared to teach and inspire students.
Am I really prepared to teach?
Change is a big word at it always comes with preparedness. I always heard some of my relatives says "walay dato sa pag maestra* means you will never be rich as a teacher. But the pride as a teacher will never depart me from teaching, it is true that teaching was never been easy. Imagine my routine in the classroom everyday :
My Routine
- I need to be in school before seven.
- At exactly 8 they need to be in the classroom for our daily devotional
- Collect the phones
- Start teaching
and the list goes on and on. .
It is pretty hard specially when dealing with the different behaviours of the students.
My three years and a half in a university (before my internship) I was learning about the different theories and strategies and I can always says that it is easy to memorize those than applying it into practical or in a real-life situations.
Vgotsky can't help you when you're dealing a student with a historical problem or a student who has a family problem. The teacher has to deal with those kind of problems.
What If. . .
I was scared to demonstrate and teach before. There are a lot of what if's popping
through my tiniest brain cells.
What if I fail?
What if I lost tract?
What if a student throw a question that I cannot answer?
Then now I come to realized that I am teaching to learn from them and so they can learn from me for the things that they don't know.
Experience is the best teacher but it will never be the best if you are not learning to take risk.
Experience and Success comes together with Failure and Challenges
So, I must say nobody is not prepared. We as teachers should be the change first if we wanna see a change in the world.

Thank you for speaking for us maam @theunlimited. Trully, we are not prepared but we need to accept that we must teach and we must do this. It is the passion that is driving us now until the end of our life or our career. Thanks for this.
