I have so many jackfruits in the garden! Thanks for the inspiration and recipe!

i still have not had any ripe jackfruit!

fascinated by jack fruit. It is virtually impossible to find here, especially at a reasonable price.

have you checked indian or asian markets?

yep, usually it is just canned. I'm sure once it gets more popular here, it will become more easy to find

thats all i use! young jackfruit :)

Will have to do more of a search and see if I can get a bit more value for money.

Looking forward to trying this!

thank you enjoy !!

ooh gonna give this one a try. Hoping I can locate some canned jackfruit, I have a feeling it'll be a bit tricky but this looks so good!

try asian or indian markets if you cant find it! or you can always order online from edward and sons! they make a pre shredded product http://www.edwardandsons.com/es_shop_new.itml

Looks delicious! I'm definitely going to try making something with jackfruit soon :)

let me know how it goes! i prefer to use http://www.edwardandsons.com/es_shop_new.itml and pre shredded and cuts all my prep time out. i found it at the store near me. enjoy !

I looooove jackfruit as a meat substitute 👅💦 it sounds super weird, but the texture is amazing. BTW I am so jealous of you living in LA! That city (and San Diego) has such incredible vegan restaurants. Maybe you could do a guide to your favourite LA Vegan joints? I'd love to see that 🤩

its my go to favorite! woo. we have way too many vegan options out here, its a blessing. I've been asked to do a guide before actually but hey, maybe ill do it here, thats an amazing idea dang! thank you :)

Have you ever bought a whole jackfruit and cut it up? They are HUGE! I’ve been considering investing in one though and freezing the leftovers to use a meat replacement. I went to an Indian restaurant (right across from NASA in Texas) for Valentines Day last year and they had a vegetarian 5 course special. One of the plates- had this “meat” that tasted and was seasoned just like duck would be (haven’t eaten meat in 10+ years!). I even called the waiter and double checked- It was Jackfruit! I told them they did a really good job! I was fooled and I have been eating “meat” upgrades for years.

Thank you for the inspiration! Curious about the drinks... :)

i've avoided that actually lol. i dont know how good they are to use when they are ripe, it will be extremely sweet! young jackfruit is the way to go because its flavorless. Ahh yes those asian spots do such a great job at replicating meat! they have so much flavor they are some of my favorite spots to visit :) thanks for popping by and reading!

Good to know! Sweetness factor. Thank you for taking the time to reply! :)

This is looking fabulous with lots of vegan ingredients! Mexican vegan food is new for me. Thanks for sharing this amazing colorful healthy vegan recipe.

Thank you my friend! I grew up on this so its nice to be able to have again :) thanks for stopping by fellow vegan !

I had "pulled pork" jackfruit tacos once when I was travelling through California. Blew my mind how much it tasted like pork! I will have to give this recipe ago. 😊

i love it! its such a trip right? im trying working on perfecting more flavor myself. ill get there eventually !
