....... while working on the piece, I couldn't get the song out of my head, so at your own peril, check this video - the song might follow you around for a while, like it did me........
The thought behind it: It's a "What If" story - there are parasites on plants; in the Pacific rainforest you find so called nurse logs, where new sprouts grow in fallen and decaying logs; we are sometimes invaded by fungus diseases, so why not something larger; I am also thinking of a painting by Arik Brauer that shows a palm tree growing from a date seed in the pouch of a perished bedouin in the desert - so what if a seedling sprouted on my arm, like on a nurse log? It just couldn't wait, I guess ..... What If .......
The idea was in my head for years, I wanted to paint it, but never did. So this is the next best thing - a PS job.

I cannot remember when I did the clone job. I tried searching for the photo of myself, which was actually taken in my backyard in Canada, but I could not find it. It was done anywhere between September 2007 and March 2008 when I first uploaded it to DeviantArt:

What is a nurse log?
If you’ve stepped foot in the forested wilds of the Pacific Northwest, you’ve seen the moss and fern covered “nurse logs” of fallen Sitka spruce, hemlock, cedar and Douglas fir. While we might never know if a falling tree in a forest makes a sound if no one is there to hear it, there is no doubt that fallen trees provide seedlings with just the right ingredients they need to survive in the dark, intensely-competitive undergrowth of a temperate rainforest. Miraculously, the life they live (up to 500 years for some trees) often matches the time it takes for them to fully decompose back to the soil. This often equates to a millennium of sustaining life in some form or another.
