How About a Nice Gorilla Cheese Sandwich? (Contents May Be Offensive)

in #funny7 years ago

I knew that my child was asking for a grilled cheese sandwich, it's just that it was fun for me to call it a 'gorilla cheese sandwich' instead, because I was her dad, and it was cute to see her face when I said it.

A Thoughtless and Cruel Play on Words

Those were the days, so long ago, when things were cute, and an innocent play on words was... innocent.

Soon, my daughter, she didn't want gorilla cheese sandwiches anymore, because "we shouldn't eat gorillas, they're endangered."

Silly girl, she thought gorilla cheese was made from gorillas!

So it was that I explained to the child that no gorillas were harmed in making gorilla cheese, but that it was a useful side business for many gorillas to sell their milk for a little extra cash around the house, and that the gorillas had totally agreed to it.

Fresh Gorilla Cheese Sandwich

She still didn't want a gorilla cheese sandwich for some reason, nothing I said seemed to help.

So it was that I became a cruel and heartless father; to joke about making cheese from gorilla milk, even as those same gorillas were lounging at home, happily watching their Primate Time TV and getting paid for it.

That milk apparently should have been going to baby gorillas so they'd quit being endangered, and so on.

"Gorillas shouldn't be watching TV, either."

Nothing's any fun any more, I suppose.

OK, I'll just make you a nice peanut butthole and jelly sandwich instead, my dear.

Haha this is great! Messing with your kids is fun. I do it all the time ;) And they come up with some pretty funny stuff too. One time when I was making my youngest a grilled cheese she said, “Mom! Now I know why they’re called ‘girl’ cheese! Because girls love to eat them!” She also calls cinnamon swirl toast “squirrel toast” and it’s too cute to correct her. Now if I’d only thought to tell her that they were made of real girls and real squirrels 😆

Swirl toast sounds pretty good right now, but mine has to be squirrel-free, I'm vegetarian. It's funny too that now my daughter is grown, she's nearly a vegan these days, so she might not eat any cheese at all now.

It's just so interesting that I write a post about being cornered at times and having to explain what comedy is, when I shouldn't have to. And you write this, basically describing misunderstood humor. Brilliant!

haha I nearly started the bit with, 'humor is hard.' I wondered too if it was offensive to make fun of different species these days-- I might have tried that before when I made fun of squirrels one time in a post. It wasn't encouraged by the voters, as I recall.

When I wrote that Dick Assman post, I wrote it in a way that first taught people that it's only natural to laugh at certain things. Then I switched gears to show folks how there's no need to stop laughing and start feeling sorry for something or someone. The laughter isn't actually doing the damage. It's the one's trying to act like protectors who actually cause the harm. It's a strange phenomenon. My words cannot really describe it well.

On the Assman video, the lady who was questioning Dave was trying so hard to be offended, or to pity Dick or whatever she was doing there to try to kill the fun, and Dave diffused it perfectly; "You ever hear the term, 'beating a dead horse?' As in, give it up lady, fun and comedy won't be ruled by your pretend outrage.

Exactly. Dave saw right through it, he's been there a thousand times before. He knows their little game. I wonder what it is about funny people that intimidates those who don't have the ability. It's that darkness disguised as brightness I mentioned in my last little post there. That line has such a profound meaning behind it. To me, at least.

cheese made from gorilaa's haha how do you come up with it :)

haha we used to have 'grilled cheese' sandwiches around here, but I ruined it by playing with the sounds of the words, trying to be funny!

ummmm speechless right now hahah

Probably best, I understand!

hahah you made my day bro lol

Awesome, I think that was the plan!

hahah what was that lol

Once that dairy operation is seen, it can never be unseen.

Lol. Such an adorable kid.

we shouldn't eat gorillas, they're endangered.

Messing with them is fun--until they prove they're smarter than you. Lol.

She is certainly smarter, while she still pretends that I am the smarter one-- I know because she learned that from me.

Ha ha ha this is great

Thanks @mightpossibly, it's graphically illustrated eh!

The story could've easily stood by itself, and I would have had the same reaction. But yes, definitely. Love the illustrations. Silly opportunistic gorillas.

Myself and your kid have something in common really. Psst. That name is scary lol... Gorilla cheese? Haha. This is indeed an hilarious One.

The gorilla cheese was my way of tricking her into becoming vegan-- it nearly worked.

Yuckkkkkk

I know, I know. ;)
