Today we announce the official launching of the The Greens Steem Bank.
The bank is being created to ease Cameroonian steemians' Steem to BTC to CFAF (Local currency) transactions as well as reduce the cost of the transactions by 20 -25%.
It averagely cost about $28 (0.005BTC) to withdraw Steem via an exchange site like Poloniex but with @thegreens Steem Bank, Cameroonian Steemians can now get instant cash payments in CFAF via MTN Momo for their Steem/SBD at a reduced cost (20 - 25% reduction).
The principal objectives for the creation of The Greens’ Steem Bank are;
- To ease Steem/SBD - CFAF transactions for Cameroonian Steemians
- To reduce the Steem/SBD withdrawal cost for Cameroonian Steemians
- To minimize the losses incurred during Steem/SBD withdrawal transactions e.g. A lot of people have made mistakes and sent SBD to Poloniex or mistakes with BTC Wallets.
- To reduce the time taken and worries associated with completing a Steem/SBD to CFAF transaction e.g. Sometimes it takes hours or days for a BTC confirmation to be complete or there may be network issues but with the bank, once Steem/SBD is deposited, the MTN Momo is credited.
- To reduce or stop the power down of Cameroonian steemians’ Steemit accounts via the provision of very low interest Steem loans. We believe, if we give Cameroonian steemians loans, they will reduce the rate at which they power down their accounts.
- To give Steem trading and investment alerts to Cameroonian steemians
- To guide and provide Cameroonian steemians with information on how they can better invest in Steem
Steem/SBD Withdrawal via @thegreens’ Steem Bank
Exchange rates will be determined at the current market value. Once you and the bank confirm the market value of Steem, exchange will be at the exact and official rate. Meaning if Steem is 0.88 we will exchange at 0.88 and if BTC exchange rate is 570 per dollar, we will pay you 570 per dollar.
Bank will always function at current market values all the time.
To withdraw from the bank, all the Steemian needs to do is;
- Contact @thegreens Steem Bank via WhatsApp on +237676243136 to confirm the USD value of their Steem/SBD (To confirm the selling price of the Steem/SBD at the time of exchange)
- Once confirmed, they will then deposit their Steem/SBD into @thegreens with the memo Steem/SBD – CFAF Exchange .
- Upon receipt of the Steem/SBD in @thegreens’ wallet, an instant MTN Mobile Money will be paid into their Mobile Money account. It will take less than 2 minutes to receive the payment.
Profits
- 25% of the profits will be used to power-up @thegreens account so that they can be able to support more steemians in Cameroon and around the world
- 50% of the profits will be used to organize environmental contests, support the work of environmentalists and plant trees around the globe (Steemit Trees Project)
- 25% of the profits will be reinvested in the share capital of the bank.
The bank will for now serve only Cameroonian steemians but we are currently working on extending the banking service into CEMAC and ECOWAS regions of Africa as well as to different countries around the globe.

I really see this one as an ANSWER to my question i was still bothering my mentor with. When i just joined steem. The questions i kept asking my mentor @blaisebass1 was this."if i want to withraw today how do i do."
The answer answer he gave me were honest but sounded somehow unrealistic to me. That if i had to withraw i will pay charges of close to $30 of which what i had in my account then was even less than $20. He continued that i could also transfer my steem to another user and receive momo from the person directly. This one sounded better.
The advice he gave me which i like till today was that i should forget about the money part of steem and just work. I see it s paying today. And today @thegreens is coming up with a bank. Its a timely initiative.
My advice to us is this, wherever we find ourselves we should always identify problems faced by people and attempt solutions and we will always be reward.

Interesting idea.
If you are exchanging at market rates how will you make profit?
You are presumably charging fees to enable you to make a profit - what are your fees?
Will you be encouraging people to buy STEEM as well?
The Steem economy needs people to buy STEEM not just sell it all the time.
Will you be publishing monthly accounts for full transparency?

Banks are meant to encourage people to save and advice them on better/profitable business opportunities as well as support their clients in times of need. The Greens' Steemit Bank has been created to encourage steemians to save and invest in Steem by encouragign Cameroonians to buy and keep steem, stop the powering down of accounts via the provision of Steem loans and assist Cameroonian steemians when they are in need via the Steem-CFAF exchange service.
