Earth Ranger Zunwie Beata

The Earth Rangers are thrilling us with their creativity as portrayed in their Environmental Paradise Art.

This summer holiday, @thegreens prepared a Green Art Box that contains all kinds of art supplies and is circulating it around the community to encourage young people to use art to learn about the environment.
On Thursday, the Green Art Box left from Miranda, Esther and Marvel to the Zunwie’s home where we have Earth Rangers Beata and Nelvis

Earth Ranger Beata in her art describes an environmental paradise where man is at peace with nature. A place where plants and animals are flourishing in the beauty of the Earth. In her paradise, she enjoys the beauty of flora and fauna around her home and she strives to create this dream world by serving as an Environmental Defender.

Earth Ranger Nelvis on the other hand dreams of an environmental paradise where he is taking the lead in nurturing the beauty of the flowers by pruning. His paradise also features a waste collection bin and a vertical garden made from plastic bottles (UPB Vertical Garden), an indication of effective waste management system. Tree planting can be clearly observed in his paradise and we all understand the significance and role of trees in creating a sustainable environment.
These are two young people who have decided to express their environmental future in art and they have also pledged to take action to create the future they want by becoming Earth Rangers.

Besides the art, Each Earth Ranger had to write one word that means a lot to him/her on the Green Art Box as well as write their name on one corner of the Green Art Box.

We were amazed with what these young people hold close to their hearts and minds as well as what they wish for: Honesty, Peace, Love, Kindness, Unity, etc
The Earth Rangers program this year is going to be more special and very engaging because it's happening in a time of war in the English speaking regions of Cameroon where we are based and we are glad that after 3 years of almost no school, we are giving young people the opportunity to learn and do something to make a change in their community.

Founded in 2010, @thegreens have been able to use arts, sports, media and ICT to educate and engage more than 10,000 young people in Green Poetry, Green Music, Green Arts, Green Radio, and Conservation Champions League.

Her tree planting programs have seen the organization create 04 Community Tree Nurseries, planted more than 300,000 trees and together with @kedjom-keku we have acquired 1000 hectares of afromontane forest in Kedjom-Keku Village of the Bamenda Highlands of the North West Region of Cameroon for the creation and conservation of Kedjom-Keku Community Forest

@thegreens is currently engaged in Waste Management (Waste Business Hub); Plastic Waste Upcycling, Tire Upcycling and Textile Waste Recycling via @ecodesigns.
Her #EndPlasticPollution Campaign has seen the organization sensitize more than 100,000 people about plastic pollution, upcycled more than 10,000 plastic bottles to create UPB Vertical Gardens, UPB Tree Nursery Pots, etc.

Her Textile Recycling Project (@ecodesigns) is currently training 13 young girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing and has recycled more than 5000 pounds of textile waste.

Her Tire Upcycling Project is educating and engaging young people in schools and communities to #StopBurningTires and upcycle them to create Mushroom Tire Seats, Tire Flower Pots, etc
