My picks for tonight's UFC on fox 29 main-card
Tonight's card is easily the most underrated card of the year, every fight is absolutely fantastic, and the main and co-main event are guaranteed to be absolutely insane.
There's 14 fights in total tonight so I'm only going to focus on the main card, just some quick picks. Let me know who you got below.
Michelle "The Karate Hottie" Waterson .VS. Cortney "Cast Iron" Casey
This fight is going to be a showcase of women's MMA, Cortney is very well rounded and has finished ladies in the first round before, her record in the UFC has been a bit choppy with wins and losses, but most fights have been very exciting. Michelle had a great start in her UFC career with 4 straight wins, she has since been on a 2 fight losing streak to some very high level competition, including current strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas. Both ladies have gotten bonuses in the past and I would expect at least one of them to get one tonight.
Winner: Michelle Waterson - Round 3 via unanimous decision
Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya .VS. Marvin "The Italian Dream" Vettori
Israel Adesanya makes his second UFC appearance tonight, this kid is the real deal for sure, his striking is out of this world, I believe he will be a future champion very soon and 100% a top ten contender by the end of the year. However, he has his hands full tonight in a very powerful Marvin Vettori. Marvin has one first round submission victory in the UFC and is no joke, his record has been a bit bumpy with wins and losses inside the cage, overall I see Adesanya taking the victory, but he will have to work for it.
Winner: Israel Adesanya - Round 2 via KO/TKO
Carlos "The Natural Born Killer" Condit .VS. Alex "Cowboy" Oliveira
This Co-main event promises to deliver, if Condit truly has shaken off the cobwebs and feels that he is back to 100% focus, this fight could be a back and forth masterpiece. Carlos is coming off a 3 fight losing streak that he desperately needs to break, while Alex is coming off a round 3 KO loss to Yancy Medeiros. If both guys are in full spirit and shape, I can see this one being a pure classic, hard to pick a winner.
Winner: Carlos Condit - Round 3 via Submission
Dustin "The Diamond" Porrier .VS. Justin "The Highlight" Gaethje
The main event of tonights card has fight of the year written all over it, this is a pure fighters fight, both guys are extremely game and prepared for absolute war. Gaethje is coming off his first ever professional loss to Eddie Alvarez in what was another fight of the year contender, if you've watched Gaethje for a while, you'll know all of his fights are fight of the year candidates. Porrier has looked really good lately and has had his ups and downs at lightweight, he has serious knockout power and has been known to engage in brawl style fights in the past, and mark my words, Gaethje will make this a brawl. I've had serious trouble picking a winner for this fight, and to be honest, it sounds corny as hell, but the fans are going to be the real winners tonight, this will 100% be fight of the night if it doesn't end in some insane KO in the first or second round, do not miss this one.
Winner: Justin Gaethje - Round 4 via KO/TKO

I got Gaethje too but in round 2. Condit vs Oliveira it all depends on which Condit is going to show up, if the guy who almost defeated Lawler to win the belt shows up then I pick him by TKO in round 3.
I was thinking that is the deciding factor in that fight as well

My picks are the same except for I've got Poirier by decision and I've got Carlos Condit by decision!
To be honest I could easily see both of those happening too, I had trouble picking those ones, especially Porrier Gaethje.
Agreed... It's all about who imposes their will and sets the pace. I kind of like Poirier to try and take Justin down but I'm sure that's not what UFC brass wants on a fox card!
Haha if it's Gaethje they won't mind, he's violent everywhere, he's actually a serious wrestler, he won a lot of championships in his youth, so it'd actually be Gaethje threatening Porrier with the takedown, mother of god I can't wait for this one.

Haha sure not a lot of pople know about Gaethjes wrestling because he brawls so god damn much, so no judgment there lol. I decided to do this because of the main event hopefully it'll be fun and fact that it's free on FOX will allow people to watch it that wouldn't be willing to buy it.

The card is most definitely underrated. No doubt flying under the radar because it doesn't have any bad blood between the fighters.
Amazingly everyone of the fighters made weight too! Hopefully that's a good sign and they will all be coming in at their best and we should get some awesome fights.
I know what you mean, I love a good rivalry too, but I reckon this is going to deliver. It's handy for us too, no 3am main card, It starts at 1 which is so good.

Crypt Keepah bringing the goods! I don't know enough about the non-main event fighters but generally enjoy the hell out of those fights. Whoever I think looks the most like a homeless guy is probably gonna win in dominant fashion.

I dunno why, but I'm really feeling a Condit submission win.
That'd be insane! I can see it happening.
Maybe from a knockdown and transition to mount and submission.
I do think if Condit can win his best shot would be from grappling and working his way to a submission.
Can't see him handling Cowboy's striking too well, especially early on in the fight.
Completely agree with that, it depends on what version of him we get tonight.
