Heavy Breathing in Cats I
Cats are by nature, athletic and agile creatures that will be able to conform to considerable amounts of activity without seeming tired or out of breath. A cat that exhibits heavy breathing or panting without much initial cause is a concern.
This is often indication of a type of respiratory condition, otherwise known as dyspnea. Heavy breathing is audible and is very similar to that seen in other animals. While identifying a breathing condition is crucial in caring for a cat, there are a number of reasons that this may occur and it’s important that a proper diagnosis of the cause is carried out by a vet.
