This smart jacket can diagnose pneumonia!

in #news9 years ago

A student from Uganda has developed a medical jacket that can detect pneumonia in children.

This smart jacket can disgnose pneumonia four times faster than a doctor and eliminates the possibility of an erroneous diagnosis. The name of the person who invented this jacket is Brian Turyabagye. He also explained to the BBC how does this jacket works:

It has sensors around it, which are placed in specific points, to analyze a person's body. To diagnose pneumonia should have access to certain points of the lungs, so that the sensors are placed around these specific positions. When a child puts on this jacket, it listens to the lungs, detecting symptoms of pneumonia, such as body temperature, breathing rate and lung sounds.

I think this invention is very impresive and it will help a lot of people in the future. We also need more people like Brian Turyabagye in this world. I really liked this article and I wanted to share with you all.
