ULOG: Weekly What's Up!
Sup sup, everyone! It's been a while since I posted a Whatever Dood. Hope everyone is fine! Here's my weekly what's up! The Dood's got lots going on, mostly positive too :)
Actually, the only negative thing I can talk about is the crappy Buffalo NY spring. God, this weather just won't break. It's bright and sunny here today but yesterday I got to test out my new rain suit on the way to work. I made the mistake of wearing my half helmet on the motorcycle and thought my face was going to freeze off by the time I made it to work. Thank the God's I only live about ten city blocks from the shop. Even though it's sunny, the weather is still unseasonably cool. God, I'll be happy when the warm weather arrives!
Seriously though, Buffalo winters are terrible, and it's time for riding season. I just want to hop on the bike and be able to do a little traveling without freezing to death!
Diet Journal
I started a daily diet journal on Ulogs. I'm on a mission to drop as much weight as I can between now and Memorial Day. I thought it might be fun to document the last 4 weeks of my dieting. For the most part, it's going good. Honestly, it has been 7 months of hardcore dieting and I just can't wait for it to end. My only goal now will be to maintain my weight from Memorial Day till Labor Day, then I'm going to try and drop a little more weight by the holidays.
I'm done starving myself now. Currently, I'm eating keto friendly food and doing intermittent fasts. Basically, I'm eating once a day in a 3 to 4-hour time frame. I went from roughly 315 lbs at the start of 2018 to currently weighing 238 lbs the last time I weighed myself. I'm really proud of what I accomplished. I wanted to be under 200 lbs by memorial day, but I'm not going to starve myself to get there.
A Change Of Plans
The big trip looks like it's coming together but with a slight change of plans. I'm considering breaking the big trip up into two smaller trips and renting a fully dressed Harley to do Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle to Las Vegas!
The more I think about this, the more I like the idea. As much as I'd like to do a cross country trip, I'm really questioning if I could or if I'd enjoy it. My lower back has been bothering me a lot, and this is the exact reason why I'm getting antsy to get these trips in. Frankly, The Dood's fifty years old, and I'm not sure how many of these adventure rides I have left in me.
My thoughts are, breaking the cross country trip into 2 trips. One trip to Colorado and Moab Ut. and the other riding Pacific Coast Highway. Who knows if I handle it well, maybe I'll do a cross country trip in the future. For now, this seems like a much better plan of action.
Lets Talk Crypto
Bitcoin is looking so strong! I've been doing a nightly chart on The Dood report and with the exception of a black swan event, if we pass the $6300 level I don't see any signs of things slowing up. The Dood's hoping for another summer like the summer of 2017! God, it would be nice to wake up in the morning, make a couple of trades then go out and pay cash for a motorcycle with crypto gains :) The good old days!
With that said, I've been re-entering the altcoin markets. I think as bitcoin rises we'll see increased selling pressure on altcoins, then eventually altcoins will adjust to the market with a nice swing upwards! For me, I'm staring at charts, looking for potential bottoms of strong coins, with strong communities and hard working devs. Staying away from most of the ICO coins. They're running out of funding, and it's all about money for those coins. When the funding is gone, so is the dev team. Hopefully, I'm wrong about that, but we're already starting to see some signs of that.
The Dood's Coding
I've been incredibly busy the last few weeks. I decided to do the 100DaysOfCode challenge on Twitter and it has re-ignited my passion for web design.
When CSS was introduced I hated it. The more popular it grew, the less I enjoyed working on website projects. A large part of it was because I wasn't fully grasping the code. 57 days into the 100DaysOfCode and I'm really getting a great handle on it. I'm actually starting to enjoy web design again and it has gotten me really excited about front end development.
Currently, I'm really strong with HTML5, getting super comfortable with CSS3, and starting to get a decent grasp of JavaScript. If I'm not coding I'm working on the W3Schools CSS skills exercises. Each night I remember a little more and I'm looking up less code and coding more by memory! In the meantime, I read about JavaScript and I'm trying to get more of a general understanding about it.
SteemMonsters
Outside of all that, I'm still playing the Steem Monsters. I try to squeeze in a daily quest each day, but I've been missing a quest here and there. It's a fun break from coding and trading!
That's All Folks
`Well, that's what's up with The Dood. For the tweeted version, "The Dood's coding, trading, dieting and making travel plans. Optimistic about BTC, & cruising along the PCH by the end of summer."
Thanks for reading and taking an interest in The Dood. Cheers!

No doubt. I think it would be the perfect bike for that trip too. Then I could decide if I like it enough to actually buy one.
Many many moons ago I rode my Dyna through PCH by Bug Sur and Caramel, was pretty exhilarating!

That's awesome! It's a ride I've wanted to take for a really long time! Looking forward to Big Sur too. Definitely doing a little camping.
