Today I would like to take you on the tour around my town, Banda Aceh city. This is for the #my2018 contest organized by @anomadsoul. WE'RE ACEHNESE

Aceh (Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam) is one of the provinces in Indonesia. Aceh is located at the northern tip of Sumatra. I live in Banda Aceh, precisely the capital city of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. I will take you on a tour around our beloved city and what activities we are doing here.

BAITURRAHMAN GRAND MOSQUE

I don't really know where to start, maybe about our landmark first, and that is Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. Here's the pictures below:

This mosque is the pride of the people of Aceh. The mosque also stood firm when the earthquake and tsunami hit Aceh on December 26, 2004, 13 years ago. The photo I uploaded is the latest photo of this mosque, and every day the mosque is more beautiful.

Lots of people from outside the city of Banda Aceh come only to see how majestic this mosque is. But not only Indonesian people from various regions come here, there are also some tourists who come to see the splendor of this mosque. The mosque is also one of the largest and grandest mosques in Indonesia. Baiturrahman Grand Mosque also has a lot of history.

The decor of this mosque is now almost like the one in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Here people do not just come for prayers, but some people come to take advantage of situations and that is to take pictures or selfie (click... click...).

There are also many mosques you can find in Aceh, and they are beautiful. I love this city.

COFFEE

Who doesn't know this drink, almost all people drink coffee. And even many people are addicted to coffee. Well, Aceh has typical coffee and is very tasty. Many tourists who come to Aceh to taste Acehnese coffee, then they never forget to buy some to be brought back to their hometown.

If you visit Aceh someday, you should try Aceh coffee. My favorite is the sanger (coffee + a little milk) with a little bit shake. Try it, Aceh coffee is very delicious.

Do not be surprised if you see many coffee shops in Aceh. Coffee shops are almost in every corner of the city in Aceh.

VEILED WOMAN (MUSLIMAH) (HIJABERS)

Women in Aceh must wear the headscarf (hijab) when they are out of their homes. Because Islam requires women to cover their private parts.

In Aceh there is a law that is Islamic sharia law. The people of Aceh shall be subject to this law, if any person violates this law he/she shall be subject to sanction or punishment in accordance with the offense he/she committed.

Personally, I really like this law. I mean, I really like seeing women with hijab or headscarf. And don't worry, they're all beautiful.

THE BEACHES

In Banda Aceh there is only one beach, Uleelheue beach. Uleelheue Beach is also the place to ship or ship port.

The photo above is a photograph in the district of Aceh Besar. And the name of the beach in the photo is Lampuuk beach. This beach is a very famous beach in Aceh. Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar are neighbors. So if I go to Lampuuk beach from my house (Banda Aceh), then I only take half an hour to get to Lampuuk beach. So it's basically close.

Those beaches are all tourist atractions or tourism spots.

THE LAW IN ACEH

As I said before, in Aceh has the law of Islamic sharia law. Every Acehnese, especially Moslems, must obey this rule. If one violates the law one will be affirmed in accordance with the violations one committed.

Although the law has been applied, yet still many people are breaking it. The most frequent violations are such as adultery, gambling, prostitution, pedophilia, rapist, and the latest is homosexual.

All such offenses will be punished, and the most frequent punishment is the caning (the whip). Whip punishment is held in front of people, thus providing a deterrent effect on the perpetrator. Being punished by the whip will make them embarrassed to be watched by thousands of citizens. So, please obey the rules.

So, that's all I can show you, maybe if you guys want to visit Aceh, I will be your guide for free, I will gladly to do so.

We live together and pray together, we drink coffee every morning, afternoon and evening, our women wear hijab (headscarf), and we're Acehnese.
