Word Poetry Challenge #6 : Time (original poetry and artwork)

in #wordchallenge6 years ago

I feel like combining art and poetry again, so I decided to join @jassennessaj's Word Poetry Challenge. This week's theme is "TIME".

Below, you'll see my artwork and poetry entry for the challenge. Then in the latter part, I'll be sharing the artwork process. I hope you like it! ^^

TIME

Time is precious, time is gold
All these quotes just never gets old
For these words mirror reality
A vital reflection for you and me

Then, there's this interesting fact I've heard
Got me dumbfounded; couldn't say a word
"Time waits for no one!", I took heed
This is the ultimate truth, indeed

Devil-may-cry, we tend to procrastinate
Little do we know, it's already too late
Chances flew; opportunities are now all gone
For we failed to do what was ought to be done

And now, allow me to share the art process. Of course, first things first... let's prepare the materials needed.

I have here my poem (draft), watercolor pad, paint and paint brushes, pencil, eraser, masking tape and scissors.

As usual, I tried to put tape on all the sides of the paper.

After that, I sketched a "classic pocket clock", the title as well as my draft guide. However, there's something wrong with the picture I took for the draft. I just noticed it when I transferred the pictures on my PC. (sorry about that)

Then using "yellow ochre" and "burnt umber" colored paints, I playfully painted the main background. I chose these colors to make it more "classic" in some sense.

It's kind of messy, isn't it? hahaha~ but it's okay... ;) Afterwards, I moved on to painting the pocket clock as well as the title of the poem.

Once I completed that part. I tried to control my shaky hand in painting the words of my poetry piece.

I let the paint dry for a bit before I erased the primary pencil draft. After erasing, I took off the masking tape on each side and wrote my Steemit username, signature and date below.

Lastly, to have a better view of the artwork and poetry piece, I scanned the whole page. :)

And that's it for the art process! I hope you guys enjoy it. Thank you and see you next time! ^^

Whoaa. This is awesome. It would be an honour to lose to you, @tegoshei. Kudos!

Thank you very much... This poem is really concise though because I wanted to make an artwork, so I didn't want to make it any longer.. teehee~~ I checked your entry, btw... You're a great storyteller... <3

I am seriously awed by you for having both a gift in both arts and literature; things that make life beautiful. Keep life’s magic alive! ❤️ And thank you as well for the kind comment. 😅

Beautiful poem and beautiful work!

You are a package! I love your poem and you did an awesome job doing the art. I don't think you are an amateur writer.

Thank you so much. :) I'm happy you like it! ^^ Ohh~ it makes me glad to know that... but I still have a long way to go in terms of being a writer. <3 But I'll keep your word as a motivation... ^^

You're doing great. I love the attitude. There's always room for improvement.

Thank you so much! :)
