I'm now inviting 100+ Thingiverse viewers a day to join me on Steemit!
The platform i use the most, beside Steemit is Thingiverse, i have been posting and uploading my 3d models and pictures of my 3d models for over 3 years.
But Thingiverse it not really innovating there platform, in this 3 years the platform almost didn't change and there poor attempt for a tip system failed. It is still a website with a lot of traffic and 3d models, and a lot of new models are added every day, but it is not really a blossoming community.
On Thingiverse, comments are not even given that often but things are downloaded a lot.
In those 3 years: 48 comments..., 1003 likes, 6.780 downloads and 41.110 views. on 20 models
Steemit could "take over" / facilitate the other users of Thingiverse as well and this could help multiple communities:
-3d printing -3d modeling
-Scale model -Wargaming
-Raspberry pi, Arduino etc. -Makers
-Diy -RC
-Sculpting -Prototypes
-Open source projects (Robots!) -Steemit
And other connected communities as well
A few people are already helping on Thingiverse and that's also one of the places i first got to learn about Steemit, because of the uploaded 3d models with the logo of Steemit.
When the Steemit logo pops up a few times it will makes you wonder whats happening and why are they popular. (among 3d printer enthusiasts.)
Few weeks later and i'm on Steemit and want to invite other Thingivers users and viewers of my posts on Thingiverse to Steemit, therefore i changed the footer of all my models to include a invite to join me on Steemit.
The models reach together around 100+ viewers per day. My models on Thingiverse

Thank you for this initiative, we need to build up a 3D Designer, 3D Printing community here. I do agree with you, thingiverse is terrible on many aspects. I wonder if Steemit plans to setup a kind of forum soon, I think it is a missing feature to reach out your audience.
Im happy to help and hope my efforts can help other makers to get more appreciation for there work and effort and for sharing there things and ideas for free.
A shared community with mixed interest such as Steemit would be so much more helpful and the future possibilities seems to be endless.
A Forum could help and when thinking about it longer, it really could be a nice addition to Steemit.
And also a Tag for 3d printing related posts: "3dprinting"
(i currently use "print3d" and "printing" for my posts on Steemit because tags can't start with a number at this moment)
