RE: How unschooling suddenly became mainstream schooling - with lots and lots of homework
please be aware that the old system structures will be increasingly stringent and violent in various ways, as it is trying to hold on for dear life ...
my recommendation is to always be gentle and kind, yet firm and clear, to state what is needed and being creative to find ways to fulfill the needs of everyone involved in the situation ...
however, at some point, those working to keep the system running (even if the system is collapsing in on itself) will ask us to do things that go beyond something that can be fulfilled, almost as if we would be spending most of our time documenting rather than living (this is called "administration"), and at this point a line must be drawn, where we honor our own space, time, energy and sovereignty, which will be respected by those who are parts of (and supporting) the old system when we are courageous, persistent and authentic enough in our expression ...
in the end, nobody wants to do boring work 24/7, and most people who are in the system do this on a regular basis, and are probably bored sick, and are only there for the paycheck, but if given the opportunity (and permission, aka "self-empowerment") would much rather be doing something else ...
thank you for doing what you do, and keep shining your light! <3
Thank you for your kind words and great feedback. Yes, you are absolutely right, it feels like they are holding on for dear life.
