Road to Review // o2 // making the best video for the end client needs!

in #dtube7 years ago

https://review.hunt.town is coming sometime this month and it’s going to change the face of brand advocacy forever — the first platform for digital agencies, brands and brand advocate makers to earn cryptocurrency, the HUNT token and the second vertical launched by steemhunt on the steem blockchain backbone, it’s an exciting time! :)

just in case I’ve not made it clear enough, the reviewhunt platform has over 105 companies with an initial marketing spend of $695,822 put aside for their campaigns — big areas like blockchain, social and health & fitness.

making the best content for your client.

The bottom line question for me whenever I’ve worked with a client in the past is what they want the content to achieve — is it just for reach, promotion, awareness or hope that a percentage of your viewership will just click on the link, check out the website and order whatever it is you are selling — that’s often the case, sometimes it’s engagement past launch and longevity of that relationship if the features and the upcoming elements are interesting enough to keep you around after launch.

What’s the main objective for the client with your content — sales, brand building awareness, social graph reach, always be designing in that end result, not about you, about it and about them.

Your quests, if you choose to accept it!

in reviewhunt the companies will have a structure to their ‘quests’ — those can be a series of elements before you get your payout in HUNT tokens, I expect these to be simply at launch but build up to be really useful media components that a company will want over time.

FOR EXAMPLE
. .. ‘a quest around voices from global product users’

I’d love to see a brand put together a number of questions to ask HUNTERS regarding a product that a company makes, using that content stitched together to get feedback on a product from all corners of the globe, maybe you limit the question for ten peoples responses with five questions in total.

everyone get’s paid a small amount and all that content can go away to the companies video editor for building into a piece of social media to share on their own channel — on the flip side of that, they could set part of the quest for you to share on your social media too, increasing the evergreen nature of people searching for that product or brand.

structuring product quest videos

Obviously I could talk forever about equipment for shooting for video but really whatever you can afford right now is probably the best for the job, always have the best audio quality you can over spending mad money on video quality if you cannot afford it — just upgrade as you go as you earn money from your quests. reinvesting your funds for better quality.

The biggest area I want you to think about is your MEDIA MANAGEMENT! — I’ve been looking at DAM’s recently like this one I posted on steemhunt the other day — https://steemhunt.com/author/@teamhumble/kyno-the-smart-all-in-one-media-management-app — it’s called kyno and it’s pretty reasonably priced — if you are gonna be doing video regularly I suggest you start to put together some kind of digital asset management.

The biggest impact that I see on modern videos for reviewing today are three simply things.. .. GREAT MUSIC, MACRO SLIDERS & NEON LIGHTING!

Let’s take someone like marques brownlee — I remember when this guy got started and was nobody but rose up in the ranks with his focus, determination and great style that he kept on improving and adding in more value the more income that he made from his youtube channel — marques would be a PERFECT advocate for reviewhunt with this nearly NINE MILLION subscribers on youtube.

you’ll notice that from the get go he has a great intro, super clean, great soundtrack, doesn’t last too long, get’s out of the way and then after a little bit of talking you get those super slick slider shots of extremely high quality of the product

I truly hope that reviewhunt ends up making video quality as good as this in the year to come and we build a base of high quality reviewers.

But yeah, what’s in right now and what a lot of brands and companies are going to expect is the level of quality that is already OUT there and has big followers.

So let’s look at a few little bits of the puzzle that you could invest in today that will instantly 1000x your content quality to maybe get that extra subscriber on your account today.

FINDING MUSIC

https://www.epidemicsound.com seems to be the YouTuber choice of the moment, you certainly don’t want to get yourself caught up with royalty issues or get a strike down because of your in video audio, pick something suitable to the mood of the brand or product — if it’s a young company with a productivity product you can go for something upbeat for instance.

GET YOURSELF A SLIDER

It’s not cheap but starting from 450 euros you can get the super portable sliderone v2 from their website — https://edelkrone.eu/products/sliderone-v2 — with a mobile phone app setting up for those macro shots while you do a lovely crisp voiceover should make your video stand out — remember you are putting the idea of the customers product in your own hand in your everyday environment, you want the customer to buy your stuff, bring focus onto the object!

AMBIENT COLOURED LIGHT

If you are on a budget you can get some great lightning for neewer that will do the same job as some of the more established names — just be warned it just might not last as long as the other kit but it will get you to where you need to go if you are just starting out.

Led tv backlighting is big too, you can get simple coloured lighting that you can switch using software on your computer to the colours you want to match the product you are reviewing or use as under lighting to really life the colours of the product or make it stand out — what looks particularly nice as well is the nano leaf kit too (obviously you don’t need this much!)

you can see the hues and the light it casts on surfaces, great for experimenting with different colour patterns or as a background for your live stream or for recording static video shots on a plinth or computer desk

so much talent already on dtube

I think this is a massive opportunity for steemians and dtube content creators to really get into not only the HUNT token but earn some extra money and improve their skills to ultimately feed back into the STEEM ecosystem, $700,000 is a lot of money and I’d love for that to see a big chunk of that reinvested back into this chain that’s brought us so many new friendships, opportunities and dapps we love.

re-investing back into HUNT and STEEM

I’m making sure that any projects that earn through the reviewhunt system that I re-invest that into STEEM and upgrading equipment to make better quality videos that I can share on decentralised platforms like d.tube, youtube, lbry and beyond.
