Kinda crazy to think about it but the more I dig deeper into the world of money, value, digital transactions, real time, streamed, audience development the more I see how these all hang together on a very fine balance that can be easily shifted at a moments notice — resources shifting from one place to another in the blink of an eye.

Or at the very least the illusion of value, the mutual agreements we make on a daily basis in that sheep culture mindset when we are distracted by our own life needs by the media machine at least.

While jamming a cracker into my mouth (I got these great fibre ones) because I was getting hangry I started to think about ‘masternodes’ — that seems to be something that keeps on coming around to me to haunt me every so often, like a little echo or reminder that I need to be considering my involvement with running my own.

Over a decade ago I ran my own game server company, a gap (game server provider) in a market that had not been dominated yet by the cloud. It was a home-brew affair, two people running a 47u server rack space with 12 machines inside, a couple of dell poweredge 2650’s and a stack of ugly cabling and poor ventilation, I literally threw it together.

The reason why I started this ‘company’ was all because our squad/clan wanted our own server and I said ‘I can do that’ and thus the gaming company was born, for a few years it bought me in a couple of grand a month and we used that to build new units, pay for storage and power and 100 mbit connection each month.

Then someone came in and bought the building in a hostile takeover from europe and doubled the prices overnight, it was kinda rough but it had run it’s course, the market changed and cloud technology was starting to flex it’s muscles — taken today and we have dynamic instances that spin up in virtual machines in an instance, much better than our perl socket manager that my programmer/dev made (it was ahead of it’s time!)

ANYWAY, the point..

Our connected devices, our raw processing power and hardware will end up being a combination of smart technologies that will assist us with verification, validation, influence and ultimately access — that’s the big one for me at the end, access.

i see a time when every house hold or at least every accommodation that we buy or rent will have some level of IoT connected device that will mine calculations on our hardware — be it static or mobile in our pockets, the blockchain of us will follow us everywhere.

Constantly verifying involvement, validating our inputs, determining our influences and ultimately feeding into the access — access to resources, effort put in vs analog needs put out, I truly see that happening right now but with a layer of distraction economy of seemingly waves of entitlement because of the rapid adoption of all things shiny shiny.

We’ve never been more distracted.

So yeah masternodes man, I think I gotta get my head into some solar, battery and block trades I love, trust and feel compelled to run nodes for and I need to calculate the return from both sides — the digital currency coming in and the ethical resource management of the renewable energy sources to keep that calculation going.

Think of it like basic income 101 from the house of nodes that you built, an always running reliance network of machines that calculate and connect you to the ethical digital support groups that actually help with analog issues on the ground.

Just a few thoughts, I’m interested from master node owners … is it just money for you or are you thinking bigger? Influence, Access and so on?
